Keep up the hustle! I work for Sunbelt Rentals and not all branches do this but it is something to keep in mind to maximize your profits. Find out what that locations rental policy is for renting over the weekend. The branch I worked for you could pick the equipment up on Friday afternoon, bring back Monday morning and you would only be charged a 1 day rental. If you could line up a couple similar jobs requiring the same equipment for a weekend you can definitely save a little cash.

I just got the MTL XC8 60" CUT WITH THE GRINDING TEETH AND THE PISTON MOTOR. THE GPM 25-40. My Kubota 75-3 runs it like a boss. It's the best of both worlds. You get a grinder to grind down 8 inch trees/stumps and a cutter.

You’re out there getting after it plus you got the guts to post on KZfaq which opens you up for all kinds of bs haha. Nice job just keep in mind that your “profit” is not $900. It’s just 10% on top after you have paid your self for the labor, paid for your machine running hours, the bush hog rental, your truck and trailer and paid for your overhead like insurance etc.. I crunched numbers on what I would’ve charged, and I think I would’ve been at about $1,700-$1,800. I appreciate you taking the time to break it down. Keep going dude.

I think your prices are too low. It could be your market, but I would be about twice that for a day with one piece of equipment hauling with my dodge 2500 here in VT. If you do much of these small brush cutting projects, a DR walk behind brush mower might be worth considering. Profit is higher for small jobs. I do those smaller jobs sometimes with the DR mower, that way I don't have to haul or risk breaking my larger equipment.

I am selling mine. It is an ASV posi-track 50 horsepower, 650 hours. Perkins Diesel Engine. The tracks are still new. We have only used it to push the snow out of the driveway. I think it was an overkill because I am not into construction. It has been in our garage, not outside. The price may be negotiable $ 48 to 50,000 dollars. It comes with its bucket, hardly used. Other details can be given The machine will be sold as is. We have changed the battery every two years to a brand new one to keep it ready for the winter. We also bought the grapples if you are interested in getting it.

Hey man not nitpicking because you have way more experience than me but would it be better to put the weight of the machine over the axle of the trailer to make it pull better?
@EntreprenuerDavis
@EntreprenuerDavis 5 ай бұрын
The trailer isn’t long enough or maybe not built well enough because when I turn the machine around this the trailer start to sway at high speeds so instead of having a dangerous situation I’d much rather be safe with more tongue weight. Words to the wise if your ever in doubt always put more tongue weight on the trailer to save yourself from a disaster.

Nice work bro just subscribed. Question though, do you or most land clearing companies cut down the trees as well? Or just stick to land clearing? Or do you do both in some occasions or is that a job for the tree trimmrrs. Appreciate you
@EntreprenuerDavis
@EntreprenuerDavis 6 ай бұрын
It all depends on the job honestly but most times when clearing land you usually mulch up any tree and brush that is smaller than about 10 inches in diameter to save you mulching teeth from having to be replaced all the time because the teeth cost a good bit.

Get rid of those motorhome axles they aren’t very good to be pulling a lot. I’ve had multiple fail on me before even with proper maintenance.

You need a grappling bucket, and pile all that crap. And then use your bucket to grade the whole property to its all level. What’s the purpose of leaving it like that.
@EntreprenuerDavis
@EntreprenuerDavis 9 ай бұрын
Because the customer didn’t pay me to level the entire property… I’m in the business to make money not to give away free work but I thought that was pretty obvious🤷🏾 I guess not and I don’t need a grapple bucket because I got the job done without it

Its not 4 points of contact you need 4 points of securement, and judging off your video you technically only have 2 points of securment. With you having the binders connected to the trailer on one end , to the chain that is looped through the machine then back to a binder and then back to the trailer that would only count for 1 point of securement. I say that because if one binder failed then the chain would go slack and then the other binder is doing nothing. In order to get 4 points of securement from 2 chains and 4 binders you would need to have a section of chain between the binders with no tension on it. I.E. chain on machine going doing to stake pocket or D ring on trailer then chain layin on trailer bed through another stake pocket or D ring on trailer back to the machine. Then put the binders between the parts going down to trailer from machine and then the other end on the section going across the trailer deck. Do that on both sides and you then legally have 2 points of securement.

I know in my state NC you're only required to have four points of contact with anything over 10k lbs. Check your DOT laws though. Great video my guy. Keep up the great work. God is great, ALL the time!!!
