Thanks for the Video, very useful, I also thought “Why are they blocking out Surnames, surely they will be on companies house!” and of course they are. I set up a limited company a year ago & am now going through trying to work out what I need to file - will watch your other videos on that!

What is a Trading/Business Name separate from the Official LTD name? Where do we register our Trading name? How many Trading names can a single LTD own? And how can new business owners take advantage of this from a Marketing perspective? And can we use words in our Trading name which are considered sensitive by Companies house for official registration of Companies? Why are some words considered sensitive by Companies House and how to maybe get through this regulation? Thank you! :D 👍

You don't have to register trading names with Companies House and you can have as many as you want. Again though you need to take care not to infringe on any other businesses trademarks with your trading names and of course you can consider registering your own trading name as a trademark - e.g. ABC Limited trading as Apples, Biscuits and Cakes for Sale. As for sensitive words here is a list of them at Companies House - . www.gov.uk/government/publications/incorporation-and-names/annex-a-sensitive-words-and-expressions-or-words-that-could-imply-a-connection-with-government - Hope this helps 👍

I have enjoyed the series of video's it is some time since I was in a partnership and company secretary to a charity. I have only a few days ago completed an outline for a new LTD. So, watching these video's nothing surprised me which pleased me just confirmed that I have a surprisingly good knowledge on the subject. What I was thrown by was looking through Companies House search results for the pair of you. 44 of which 42 seem to have been set up for no reason Graeme. I also waded through some of Neils as well. Perhaps you ought to do a few videos on the reasoning behind your Companies House activities especial the reason for setting up a company with a deficit of 260K, I assume it was to remove a loss from another venture. It would be enlightening to understand how this was done and the rules governing this type of exercise. I think it was your intention by blacking out entries during the video to make it difficult to locate your business activities. Actually, it was surprisingly easy to search having used your KZfaq channels name. Well again thanks for an excellent sequence of informative videos. I only have a couple more to watch after this one and will look out for more to come.

As you have found, these days with social media, unless we used pseudonyms, we don't think anyone could be anonymous. Neither of us has anything to hide and our business history is available at Companies House, LinkedIn etc. Like you, we have had reason to carry out searches on people and businesses, you can discover what has happened, but it is not possible to understand why they have. We are not sure that a history of our involvement in the various companies would be an interesting video, but if you spot something in our company history which you think could make a great Netflix special let us know and we’ll split the profits! 😂 Thanks again for watching and please let us have any other suggestions.

I have started to register my new company yesterday and at some point the web page stopped working. After a few attempts of restoring the page and even changing the password because it says the password or email address is not correct, the message "sorry, we have some technical difficulties" popped up. I sent an email to the technical team hoping to resolve the issue but no answer whatsoever. What should I do now? Wait until someone hopefully will come back to me or restart the same registration

Sorry to hear you're having issues with the Companies House formation service. It's impossible for us to know of course what the problem is but in our experience the process is usually pretty good at saving progress and letting you pick up a previously started application. Have you tried to login today and see if what you had done had been saved? If not it's probably going to be simplest to just start a new application from the start. Is not ideal if you've already done a lot of the previous application but may be the simplest solution rather than trying to get in touch with them to find out what went wrong with the initial one. My big issue currently is I got a ‘Free’ limited company by taking out a bank account with Tide - I’ve assumed they also registered me for corporation tax, but that might not be the case! Any tips in that regard?

We very much doubt they do and we can't find anything on their site to confirm. You can register yourself though direct with HMRC through the following link - www.gov.uk/limited-company-formation/set-up-your-company-for-corporation-tax. Hope this helps 👍
