Thank you Harriet for sprinkling your magic over the big set of brushes that arrived yesterday. I thought I was using good brushes but THESE are fantastic. The things I painted before all but sent me to despair but now I feel rejuvenated and confident. Yipee!!. I also bought the Bees book and was chuffed to see a Calliope hummingbird. Last summer, during our horrid forest fires here in British Columbia, the hummers still arrived on schedule but struggles with the smoke and heat. As it happened I was sitting looking out the patio window (too hot and smoky to go outside) onto my back garden and noticed a young calliope hummer clinging onto a piece of driftwood parked amongst the flowers. That was unusual. So I watched for about 10 minutes but the poor little fellow (or maybe little girl) hadn't gone to the feeder for some time. This is very serious because they need to drink often. I braved the smoke and picked up this delicate tiny gift and held it in my cupped hand. My husband took a Lonicera flower and dipped it into the sugar water and held it up to the hummer. As it drank it got stronger till eventually I opened up my hands and flew to the bushes near by. After a couple of minutes it flew to about 3 feet away from me beeped twice and flew to the feeder. What an honour and a privilege to hold something so precious. Rats...now I have to make dinner. Cheers

Aww... Yay!!! A fellow southpaw! I have watched several videos amd most of the ones I like are by righties. I watch Emma Lefevbre and in her 2021 favorites, she mentioned your videos. So I hopped over to your channel and am now a fan, not just because you're left handed. I just needed to watch how some techniques are performed by a lefty. Hi Mary, I leave mine to dry in the pans and I just refill the pan on the rare occasion that I use up all the paint
