This video will transform your transition and downswing with one simple drill. Ameteur golfers struggle hugely when it comes to shift their weight, fixing early extension, squatting, maintain good hip depth, shallowing the club and over all just having a good downswing sequence. As a byproduct this leads to inconsistent golf and poor scores out on the golf course. In todays video i'm going to show you a eureka move that will allow you to have the perfect transition and start to the downswing so you can get on plane, shift your weight and rotate freely through impact.
This is a must watch video for any golfer who is serious about improving their game. Check out this video and like always let me know what other golf coaching videos you would like to see from myself!

On this KZfaq channel, I deliver cutting-edge training that's currently yielding real results for my clients. Regardless of where you stand in your golfing journey - whether you're a beginner, dealing with flexibility concerns, or aiming to lower your handicap - this platform is designed to cater to your needs. It's a community where you can learn, exchange ideas, ask questions, and find the support required to relish this wonderful sport.
Be prepared for an authentic journey. If you're looking for quick fixes, I might not be your ideal source. Hi Giles, great video, very clear as always. Something I always struggle with is where to have foot pressure during the fast hand movement from top of backswing to last parallel. For example should your weight already be fully on the left side when your hands are at the top, or the weight is shifting to the left side while you're bringing the hands down and you're pushing off the right to do that. Same question I guess with the squat move, are you using your foot pressure to help bring the upper body down, or it's all done by the upper body only. Lots of questions guess I should just book a lesson!!

Hi Giles, great video. Thank you. The step drill is often overlooked. I was fortunate enough to have an Auntie who spent years on the US LPGA Tour and when she retired from professional golf ended up with her own TV show here in Australia during the 90’s. I was lucky that I received free lessons and was encouraged to include the step forward into my game for a short period of time. The results were a drop of 10 shots per round. Can only recommend any level of golfer to try this. Just not the Happy Gilmore process. 😂

One thing I’ve always wondered … has anyone ever measured how much of the hand speed comes from dropping pelvis and chest? Because there does seem to be a settling moment at the top before players are actually active firing their arms and hands. In other words, the hands drop really far just from the squat move.
@Gilesgillgolf

They measure hand speed but you can’t isolate how much just comes from hips as there are lots of moving parts that are pulling on the handle

Now I am sure you are doing it to exaggerate the actual motion, but by the recentering to the lead side your lead knee collapses massively before it's stretching back again. Which is my problem when I try to push off into my lead heel (and therefore crashing the club in the ground as that is difficult to time). Isn't that just more variable that you'd rather avoid? I understand that if timed well it helps in creating speed, but that's not the subject of this video right?

...but not too far down right? That's my challenge, in order to feel the ground force I tend to go down too much, whereas it's a smaller movement than is usually demonstrated in slo mo drills...
