I just bought a warthog thrustmaster and im confused by just the fricking throtle buttond

@@alwinfrisk1482 I believe it should be something like “throttle idle” or something like that in the settings. There’s a bind for the left and for the right.

Seems like a lot to remember for a dang plane.

Yup, I can sure learn to flip switches and hit buttons but if something goes wrong or isn't as expected it really helps to know what they do and why they're being pushed or flipped

Modern jets do have an ”auto start” switch but that just makes it so the plane does the same startup by itself, but it also does a bunch of uneccecarry steps, so pilots generally do the startup manually cuz its much faster.

Are you talking about real life or DCS? Because in real life they certainly don't have auto starts 😅

I fly DCS because my vision disqualifies me from operating military aircraft. I could fly the 18C, but I wouldn't see the other jet taking off on the opposite end of the runway from me... Or the various signs telling me where and where not to taxi the plane. Birds? Yeah good luck to them, because no way am I seeing one before it gets sucked into my engine going over 200 kts.

@@VeryFamousActor is your vision actually that bad that you couldn’t get any sort of waiver? A friend of mine who is nearsighted in one eye and farsighted in the other got a waiver to fly army helos with contact lenses. Sorry to hear man.

First of all, not a fighter pilot haha, just a flight sim/aviation enthusiast making videos in DCS: World. Second of all, while the FMS is a complex system, fighter jets have their own systems that are far more complex than airliners in their own way. Each is built for COMPLETELY different things so can't really be compared lol

You might as well just start DCS with flying the SU-25 which is included. That is what I did before buying the Hornet and Apache.

@@MamboDCS If you want to shave some seconds, you can turn the DDI's and AMPCD's dials to on, while the first engine is winding up. Once the engine provides power, they will automatically get power and turn on. That will save time turning the dials and waiting for the displays to BIT and warm up.

Yeah, I guess you're right for when you start it up, but for the video it wouldn't change much as I cut all those things that slowly start themselves up haha. Although, great idea! I'll keep that in mind!
