I've been wearing a jack Pyke jacket and trousers for a long time now and I must agree with everything you have said I'm even looking at getting more of there clothing it's great for the outdoors and I've not had any problems with the materials next to the fire like other well knowing companies great review mate atvb Jimmy 😎😎👍👍

I have had a set of these for some years now - they have been worked hard and lasted well, finally giving up the ghost with the jackets membrane failing after 5 years which I thought was a good lifespan for a cheapish waterproof that had a hard life. I find Jack Pyke stuff decent and sold at a sensible price - thanks for the review.

I got one of these jackets in olive green a few years back during a visit to the UK, and must say I was really disappointed with the quality control and performance.. The membrane was absolutely NOT breathable, and after only a short distance of hiking I was sopping wet inside. Yes it was rainproof, but what was the point if I was wetter inside... Also the liners of hand pockets were poorly sewn and ripped through within weeks.. I sewed them back up, but it should not have happened. Next the seam on the pocket came unsewn where your wrist sits, when in use.This is an obvious stress point and should have been suitably reinforced... Again I had to sew this up, to avoid it tearing down completely Finally within a few weeks the liner started to come unstitched from the bottom hem.. This too I stitched myself... Generally I felt this was a very poor jacket for the money I paid. I had purchased it on a trip to the UK, and had I lived in the country would have sent it back. But shipping from France was just not worth it... I hope you have better luck with your jacket.. Perhaps you could come back in a year's time and give a genuine review of how yours faired.
