I think after watching your videos for more than a year I’m finally starting to get it… I also recently unfollowed lots of people who I love watching but weren’t good for me. People who do new clothes hauls and makeup hauls every month instead of wearing what they already have really have a negative impact on me and my habits. I’d love to see some new videos like “7 outfits in 7 days” or ways you’re styling and dressing without buying new things. Thanks for being a good influence :)

I did the same as well. I switched to style videos and avoid all haul videos. I found the small wardrobe and create authentic style videos helpful. Approximately right is also another good one. One of the things that explained my overspending was a dissatisfaction with what I was wearing. I was always shopping without accepting who I really am. Style videos help a lot as long as you ignore the “what every woman needs” trap. It’s so hard to be authentic with all the influencers. Good luck on your journey.

I want you to know that you have motivated me to become debt free, Christina. I began watching your channel to see fashion ideas, then continued to watch as your focus completely changed. Over time, I realized that I had many of the same spending triggers and negative consequences as you were experiencing. I’m not there yet, but I’m getting.closer to the end goal. Thanks for your honesty and realism on your channel.

Considering that your industry pays well, it may be easy to underestimate the role of a higher salary. There are high earners with debt because they are also high spenders. However, in my country, the USA, many are struggling with debt due to low incomes.

This video is great as I’m finalizing a mortgage this week! After paying off my student loans I was so happy, and now I’m heading right back in! It will all be worth it in the end but I’m definitely going to feel the sting as we try to make maximum payments to pay it off.

This is great advice and congrats again on becoming debt free!! I'm still struggling with not shopping when I am bored/emotional. I've become much much better than I was in the past but I am still going. I'm also trying to become debt free hopefully in the next 2 years. Looking at my budget and shopping habits really helps me stop buying things. When I see how much longer it will take to pay off my debt when I make a purchase it keeps be from spending money on things I don't really need. it helps to think of purchases as additional months of debt repayment vs just buying it then and there.

You have so many great insights that are really helpful. You should definitely put them together in a book. Sure, there are financial gurus out there, but the patterns that you are identifying in your approach to finances (both positive and negative) are unique and resonate so well with me. I can't stress enough how impactful they are. And I think that you could help many others. I also think that for some women it could be less intimidating and more relatable to read a book on personal finance from a woman.

Christina, thank you for this video. I wonder how many times you slipped from the right way to the financial freedom/ I've been subscribed for a while for your vlog and there are times I keep going - but today I slipped - bought accessories for $100+ however I definitely could live without (I bought them with my credit card) I feel disgusted by myself *((((

Hi Christina, I’ve been viewing your KZfaq videos. Thank you for inspiring me to get started on my own minimalism journey. I can relate so much to what you say. I’m hoping you could help me with a question on balancing speed of decluttering vs trying not to be even more wasteful. I’m not sure if you might have addressed this in one of your videos as I’m still going through them one by one (not in any order). Whenever I try to declutter, I’m filled with guilt at the thought of disposing of things I spent good money on. It seems like such a waste to donate/bin perfectly good items. I try to sell items which I think can sell but it takes too long. It also means the clutter is all still in the house and stressing me out. What are your thoughts on this? Thank you! 🙏🏻

Hi Christina, thanks for continuing to make this content. Your journey is inspiring me to keep going. Since you seem to be a follower of Dave Ramsey, I was wondering if you would mind sharing if you used his guidance on keeping your savings to only $1000, or thereabouts, or if you felt more comfortable saving while also paying off debt? No problem if you'd prefer not to answer.

I did leave it at $1K - I was ok with this because I was still working fulltime and had a fairly secure and steady income. For many the $1k makes them nervous, so I think it’s really based on your situation and comfort levels!
