Just found your channel, great content, thanks! ❤️I recently started a decluttering and shedding process. Our house is a mess (3 kids, 2 cats, we both work fulltime). We tend to hang on to things and our children are fastpaced and changes activities freequently. I’m not a minimalist, I’m more of a ”naturalhistorical museum person”, but i can’t relax in this mess, so it’s time. Stylewise I’m lost right now, I’ve been wearing the same uniform for about 12 years, and it worked well for me to this point, now these clothes are worn, dated or ”too young”. I need to shed, and I’ve done it before, but it is harder now with less time/energy and more obligations. I made some panic-purchases, that made me understand that I really need to keep focused and plan my purchases well, as I’m also on a budget. I will try to make a wishlist and find out my ”3 words” next. I hang on to favouriteclothes that are in really bad condition, I guess I’m overcompensating for my panic-purchases with these zombieclothes.

Personally I didn't like the red cardigan styled with the brown. Or the black so much. I usually style red with grey, white or even stripes (thinking Parisian style). Have you tried styling it with a band tee with some red in the design? Graphic tee, jeans (or denim skirt) and a red cardigan. The more worn or washed out the tee and denim are the better IMO. Then the bright red contrasts beautifully.

My grandmother lived so differently... not a big consumer, had the same furniture and decor her whole life, small closet of clothes. She spent a lot of time with friends and gardening, and rarely shopped for anything but food.

Thanks! I've travelled quite a lot in my time but after becoming a mom I kind of lost the ability to pack light, lol, I end up bringing a checked bag with a million things for my daughter😂 especially when she was a baby and needed diapers and a ton of "accesories". But now she's over 3 years ... this summer we're going to Europe with her, and obviously paying for checked bags on those low-cost flights was way too much for the three of us!! So I'm forced to relearn to pack light 😅 wish me luck!

I had just moved after being in a slightly bigger place for 23 years. Also inherited some of mom’s items after losing her 1.5 yrs ago…needless to say this move was emotionally and physically stressful yet much needed for a new beginning. I first made a big decision to use my dresser as a TV console in the living room, which means I’ll need to relocate all my t-shirts to the closet! I purged so much of everything but still have a lot! I try to keep an open yet sensible mind when I re-organize my belongings, I constantly thanking for their services when I had to purge any items….it’s an on-going daily life lessons!! 🏠 😊

I don't buy any white clothes, even my wedding dress wasn't white. I don't buy any pink, i don't like the color, I don't like it on, but for some reason I kept buying it. I also don't buy any patterns, any item that is not a pure/solid color, as it washes me out.

Oh this is fun!!! My don't buy list has things that have been mentioned by other people and you - like no synthetic tops and uncomfortable shoes. But I also have things like nothing super expensive in white as too worried to permanently to stain it and no expensive earrings cause I will lost them with my luck (TRAUMATIZED) and my ears like titanium most anyway. 😂 Probably my more unique one is that I either have slumpy or kinda narrow shoulders and with a bunch of clothes I am in a constant struggle with dropping straps or sleeves - so goodbye to clothes that are on the risk zone!

for me, my primary color in color analysis is bright. so i look great in bright, bolder colors. I look terrible in colors that are too dark or too pastel. similarly, i love frills and volume and asymmetry and contrast. don't love sharp lines on myself. i love that we can learn these things about ourselves as we get older :)

I love this! So interesting to see the variety as I am the complete opposite when it comes to color. I often look most flattering in muted pastels and if I wear a bold color it's extremely cool toned (like blue) and paired with muted things for balance

I unironically love a floral couch, so I think the quilted jacket thing is something I'd actually get a lot of wear out of. 😂

I'm with you on uncomfortable shoes and high heels and natural fibers. And I've never been able to make beige pants work, even though I love them. I have no reason to own a "little black dress" or a pencil skirt; they don't fit into my lifestyle at all. Also, I no longer wear shorts. On the other hand, I love Breton stripes. Each to her own!

Great questions! I tend to think about how versatile a piece is and imagine what items it will pair with that I already have. I also ask do I already have something similar. Another huge factor for me is the care the item requires. I tend to stay away from anything that is too much effort to wash/ care for or something that I will be very wary of wearing due to it being easily stained or too delicate etc.
