Ali M YOUNUS Same here and I regret doing this sooo much. That’s how the worse of my panic and anxiety started couple months ago. I wish I can go into the past and change that by not Googling as I convinced myself I had cancer of all kinds😭 Doing that wasn’t a good idea at all. I should of listened to the doctors I already got tested for like Blood work, ecg, and cheat X-Ray all came back good expect lack of vitamin D. What caused this was I noticed I had some constipation and started Googling my symptoms. Told me oh look it’s probably cancer. The more I looked at Google I really believed I had something really bad in my stomach like cancer. So far my constipation has been acting the same since this started in May. In other words the constipation hasn’t gotten any worse and it’s probably from anxiety I’ve been suffering. I’m just fucking stupid into believing Google😭

Feeling fragile is exactly the feeling actually. It's like you don't trust your body. You feel you are sick and can't do the normal stuff people do. Why? Hell knows why. Have been asking myself the question for a while now. It feels like you can just snap out of it and sometimes you do snap out of it for a while but then habits and fearful thinking and worrying drag you back. What seems to be helping me is to continue telling myself that my body is an evolutionary beast of a device. It knows what it's doing way better than I do. My anxiety to my body is like a nagging child disctracting a grown-up from work. Just start trusting your bodies, guys. You are healthy, let your body do the work it's supposed to be doing and let it go.

Health anxiety is so much harder to deal with when you do actually have a physical problem. I'm 21 and I have SVT, which is a (non-life threatening) heart arrhythmia, and I'm hopefully getting curative surgery soon after 7 years of suffering. Of course my pre-existing anxiety and panic disorder latched onto this condition and it's deteriorated to the point where I'm anxious about my heart all day to the point where I have a hard time differentiating a real SVT attack from a panic attack! The SVT can be cured, but Dennis has made me realise that the anxiety can be cured too, and I'm making a promise to myself to do that before letting it ruin my life for another 12 years.

The Anxiety Guy I just really started viewing. I'm dealing with anxiety I'll move away from health and then focus on something else. Ex. New neighbors with howling barking dogs. Now all I think of is hearing these dogs when I need quiet and sleep. Then I think of how we're going to argue, next I'm calling the police, then I'm calling animal control, finally I'm moving out of my house. None of which is true except the barking dogs and neighbor that just moved in 3 days ago. But I am literally suffering and crying and I just want to not be in this situation. I talked to her dad who was fixing something on her porch, and asked him to speak to her. So far she has somewhat kept them quiet but all I can think about is what I will do next. I actually said I hope the dogs die, and I LOVE dogs. I'm feeling really bad...is there a video of yours I can watch to help me through this? I plan on talking to my doctor to see if I can go see a counselor. I don't want pills I want help dealing with this, I need peace and freedom from this once and for all. Side note: my mother is in a home and I have a child with autism. Thanks to all who can help. :'(

@khaienver5096 жыл бұрын
I think I'm the same way. I think we become hypersensitive and that makes us notice every little change. Maybe we can write down the changes, and when a new one comes up, we remind ourselves positively that all the previous changes turned out to be benign. Also, focus on things that make us happy and relaxed and take care of our health.

I always Google its a nightmare, i Google all my symptoms to make sure it anxiety and not something serious, i read about anxiety and most sites say anxiety comes on as a panic attack and then subsides and it got me thinking that there must be something more serious wrong with me cos i have symptoms everyday and not just panic attacks, shaky, jelly legs, leg muscles twitching, all body tensing up for no reason, sickly feelings, brain fuzzyness, dizzyness, palpations and feeling on edge. Its a constant feeling, google is a really bad place for symptoms it gives you really bad outcomes and makes you believe you have them and not just your anxiety and so the vicious circle begins

Very true. Google turned me into a hypochondriac on the first day I searched any sympton. Since then, I've been terrified of getting cancer diagnosis from a simple doctor visit, it gets to the point were i start trembling badly. It's horrible, and you feel awful symptoms of anxiety that make you even more anxious.Had a physical last year, and my mom had to calm me down because I started getting the shakes. Everything was fine, but even after then every little thing I got, I felt compelled to look it up on google, only to feel worse and believe that I had some form of cancer or heart disease

I am having some issues, I had all test done in fact twice Now I came to know that it is my mind who creating problems..... Now what I am doing I am taking things lightly. I have stopped all my anxiety medicine, started doing yoga, and ayurvedic treatment. I know its a battle and not going to easy but One thing I have in my mind is `Life is what you think` so think positive. One day everyone has to go you can not stop there will be no mercy even this is not is your control, Overthinking will not extend you life then why worry If you have problems -- yes do you have solution yes then why worry If you have problems - Yes do you have a solution no then why worry this type of anxiety occurs in very intellectual people. I must say we all very very strong in terms of learning, in terms of finding, in terms of a problem facing... After you will recover from this you will become a magnifying person, who will know all the aspect of life...

Great video Dennis. One of my favs now. This information is super important. Especially when you talk about thinking of yourself as weak. When you have anxiety you feel like your body and mind is betraying you. If you trust and love yourself thats all you need. Gathering evidence is also really important because that helps you trust yourself instead of asking other people like you dont know anything and they do. I went through that. I dont google anymore but i still ask people if im ok if im sick etc. Lol i catch myself and think How would they know? They dont know more than i do! I was able to stop googling because i know it will just create anxiety. I dont have time for that anymore! Thank you:)

thank you so much for this video. I realised today that I've googled myself into a state of anxiety. I've never done this before. I've always taken random body-hurts well and just waited them out to see if they go away. And once in a blue moon I'd google if I was genuinely curious and I'd be fine. But recently I started having a series of kinda weird things happen, so I started googling something and almost convinced myself I had appendicitis. And ever since that, I've googled every little thing I think I've felt, and then re-googled the same things to convince myself it isn't something bad. And I just really need to stop. I'm stressed out of my mind. So thank you. I really needed this.

I have : -throat tightness -problem swallowing -ear ache -headache and dizzy feeling -hoarseness ( a little bit) -stiff neck Btw:all symptoms are not severe and I don't drink or smoke cigarettes My doctor suggested that the ear ache is caused fluid that is stuck behind my eardrums. which therefore cause my headache and my stiff neck is basically stress and anxiety she gave me some pills (antibiotics) and some injections I have taken them all yet nothing seems to work, so I decided to go to get an ultrasound diagnosis which turned out to be normal everything was the right size shape and form nothing was detected its very confusing I don't either to let it go and wait for everything to disappeare on its own or seek more diagnosiswhich is probably ganna drive me insane since I probably have hypochondriasis (a condition in which a person is excessively and unduly worried about having a serious illness) because the while googling my symptoms the only thing that made sense was having something bad (i don't even wanna write the illness it terrifies me) Anyway what is your thoughts on my condition ?

This is great! You really tackle the anxiety issues well by describing exactly what a lot of us are going through and giving strategies to combat it. Thank you.

Thank you so so very much for your content! I watch this in the very most fragile way I've ever been. I've been in the er thousands of times, even stayed in hospital for 3 days, getting constant heart monitoring with no conspicuity. But STILL I do not trust the doctors what so ever. I'm in therapy as well, but feel so very alone. I feel as though everyone is misunderstanding my condition and because I'm only 21 yo, simply overlook the condition that I clearly have because of the way I feel. Right now I'm in vacation with my family. I'm ruining the whole trip and I feel so very bad about it. I have anxiety and panic attacks every day and my family doesn't know how to deal with it. There is no hospital near. I doubt, theres a functioning ambulance system where we are staying. I'm absolutely going mad. I have no idea how to manage staying alive for the next 7 days. I constantly feel my heart beat and I feel like its beating too fast, too slow, too weak, too strong all at different occasions but nonetheless at the same time. I'm literally losing it. Watching your videos at the moment gives me the only comfort. Thank you very much for that.

Thanks Dennis! So, I go through cycles of not googling symptoms then going back to chronically googling them. Right now I'm in a moderate googling phase. It's tough. I feel that I "need" to know. I need to figure this out. I know it doesn't help me and even if it gives me any reassurance the feeling doesn't last long. It's a vicious cycle. I think I'm going to delete the Google search bar off of my phone. Good idea or not a good idea?

I also googled stuff for reassurance. Fast heart rate, slow heart rate, this hurts, that hurts. Wrote this just now, might help you a bit: What seems to be helping me is to continue telling myself that my body is an evolutionary beast of a device. It knows what it's doing way better than I do. My anxiety to my body is like a nagging child disctracting a grown-up from work. Just start trusting your bodies, guys. You are healthy, let your body do the work it's supposed to be doing and let it go. Take care, man.

So true!! I have back and hip issues, and was taking pain meds for a long while. They affected my stomach and I ended up with a bad case of gastritis. I swore it was my heart, stomach or other cancer. I didn’t want to believe the test results I got from the doc or ER. Always thinking they missed something. My docs told me flat out - stay off google! The only thing I allow myself to look up is pictures and info on music etc. I do have trouble sleeping sometimes but it’s from hip and back pain- nothing more!

And I always tell myself if I really have what I think I have would I still be able to do what I’m doing now? I never thought about writing my symptom down until now that I have watched your video

Lately I've been googling and watching videos of things I know I shouldn't like story's of others who suffer from anxiety and depression they trigger my anxiety and depression. But the other day I watched a video of a kid who committed suicide because he unfortunately couldn't get the help he needed in time and I think what if that could be me. It has ruined my last couple days I've been feeling hopeless. I really sat and thought today about why I'm feeling hopeless and depressed and I think that video is what triggered it. I've had anxiety for 8 years now with depression at time's but recently had a big break down.

I know this off subject but I'm proud of myself I drove 50 miles and back on freeway ... I'm 33 I came down with panic disorder 3 yrs ago .. Before this I was driving from age 17 till now .. But again panic disorder slowed me up .. Now yes I have been driving the last 3yrs even with anxiety .. .. But after today I feel even more confident and relaxed ... The trick is all in your head ... Get control of your mind 1st .. Now today I did feel it coming here and there on freeway but I didn't give up .. Or let it fully carry out ( I have driving anxiety ) I don't know how I got this .. I think it was my eating habits .. Anyways with vitimins and fruit lots of water .. I'm feeling my old self coming back .. Deep down I don't think I will ever forget panic disorder and how it took me down ..

Everytime i hear an ambulance pass by my house i can feel my heart rate increase immediately. that is so freakin insane you said that. i started laughing because as dumb as it sounds, it happens to me everyday! i have been picked up in the ambulance several times in the past year, all anxiety related.

Because of trauma 6 months ago, I had my first panic attacts...its now six months later and I thought I was dying I couldn't breathe, chills, couldn't eat, weight loss etc..all the above but I was wondering if anybody ever had night sweats from anxieties. I went to the doctors, i've had two blood work done and they said everything is great, but the night sweats...why am I wet at nigh...can that come on from anxieties??? I know that my doctor is correct who identified the anxieties because just talking to him for two hours all my breathing came back to normal I stopped having the shakes and I actually ate food ever since then but the night sweats he said are from anxieties too and I want so desperately not to Google it but I just want to make sure is anybody else had night sweats with tremors because of anxieties thank you

You are spot on about what you said. If I have a set of events go wrong for a few days back to back and they happen around 3 o’ clock... i start getting anxiety around that same time or if I go to a certain place that I had anxiety at before I’ll start to get some. It creates a vicious cycle that feeds off of itself and it keeps happening until I break the cycle. It’s very hard to stop at first. But, I feel like my body starts to naturally realize that it is not real, because I’ve been through it so many times and nothing has ever happened. Googling the symptoms doesn’t help at all of course. It just makes it worse. I had an ekg done on me I’ve had things looked at and I’m turning 20 next month

Yes I am guilty of googling ALL the time but I also do have two chronic health conditions that are related to nervous system disfunction. These conditions are what triggered the start of my health anxiety. Can anyone else relate.?

Dennis, you'r really good in what you do! Thank you so much for all of the help! As someone who is fairly new into this, can you make a video and explain how did your (or other people) anxiety started? I noticed some anxious moments before, but all of the physical symptoms started suddenly (before actual attacks that started after psychical sensations) and I think the biggest issue for all of us is it egg or a chicken who came first. When we're clear with that, I think it will be much easier for lot of us to accept that we're not physically ill. Thank you for all of the hard work!
