Animal agriculture does have significant environmental impacts: Greenhouse gas emissions: Animal agriculture is a major contributor to greenhouse gas emissions. Livestock production, particularly cattle, produces methane, a potent greenhouse gas. Additionally, clearing land for grazing or growing animal feed releases carbon dioxide, contributing to deforestation and climate change. Land and water use: Animal agriculture requires vast amounts of land and water. Raising livestock necessitates large areas for grazing or cultivating animal feed crops. This leads to deforestation, habitat loss, and soil degradation. Furthermore, animal agriculture consumes substantial amounts of water for animal hydration and crop irrigation. Water pollution: The concentration of livestock in factory farming operations generates significant amounts of waste. The runoff from these operations can pollute water bodies, contributing to water pollution and eutrophication. Biodiversity loss: The expansion of animal agriculture encroaches on natural habitats, leading to the loss of biodiversity. Deforestation for grazing or feed crop cultivation reduces habitat availability for various plant and animal species, contributing to species extinction. Antibiotic resistance: The routine use of antibiotics in animal agriculture to promote growth and prevent diseases contributes to the rise of antibiotic-resistant bacteria. This poses risks to human health as well.

The vegan and carnivore diets represent two extremes on the dietary spectrum, with vegans excluding all animal products and carnivores consuming primarily animal products: The Vegan Diet: Lower risk of chronic diseases: Several studies have shown that vegans tend to have a reduced risk of heart disease, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, certain cancers (such as colon and prostate cancer), and obesity. This is attributed to the higher intake of fiber, antioxidants, and phytochemicals found in plant-based foods. Improved cardiovascular health: Vegan diets are typically low in saturated fat and cholesterol, leading to lower levels of LDL (bad) cholesterol and reduced risk of cardiovascular diseases. Reduced risk of certain conditions: Vegans generally have a lower risk of developing kidney stones, gallstones, and diverticular disease due to their high fiber intake and reduced consumption of animal protein. Better weight management: Vegan diets are often associated with lower body mass index (BMI) and lower overall body weight compared to omnivorous diets. This is partly due to the higher fiber content and lower calorie density of plant-based foods. Carnivore Diet: Nutrient deficiencies: The carnivore diet is extremely restrictive and eliminates many plant-based foods, which may lead to deficiencies in essential nutrients such as fiber, vitamin C, vitamin E, folate, and various phytochemicals. These deficiencies can have long-term health consequences. Increased risk of heart disease: A diet high in animal products, especially red and processed meats, has been linked to an increased risk of heart disease due to the high saturated fat and cholesterol content. It may also contribute to high blood pressure and inflammation. Potential for inadequate fiber intake: The carnivore diet lacks dietary fiber, which is important for maintaining healthy digestion, promoting satiety, and supporting a balanced gut microbiome. Insufficient fiber intake can lead to constipation and an increased risk of certain digestive disorders. Higher risk of certain cancers: Several studies have associated high intake of red and processed meats with an increased risk of colorectal cancer. Consuming excessive amounts of animal products may also be linked to other types of cancer. It's important to note that individual health outcomes can vary depending on various factors, including overall diet quality, food choices within each diet, and an individual's unique physiology. It is recommended to consult with a healthcare professional or a registered dietitian before making significant changes to your diet to ensure it meets your nutritional needs and supports your overall health.

Animal Agriculture is extremely energy intensive for the calories produced. Soy is not only a much better protein, it is healthier for humans, plants, animals, and life on the earth as we know it.

Antibiotics and penicillin are derived from the same plants we are destroying. Soy is considered a complete protein because it contains all the essential amino acids that the human body needs. Essential amino acids are those that our bodies cannot produce and must be obtained through our diet. Soybeans and soy products, such as tofu, tempeh, and soy milk, are rich sources of protein and contain all nine essential amino acids in adequate amounts. These essential amino acids include histidine, isoleucine, leucine, lysine, methionine, phenylalanine, threonine, tryptophan, and valine.

FMNR (look at Niger's successes) and other forms of regenerative agriculture, coppicing etc and definitely land ownership issues, support for crofters allotments etc are definitely needed, salination of groundwater is an issue connected with sea level rise. as well as the ground water extraction for agriculture are going to be huge issues and the insect decline and pollination

I have become vegan more than 3 years ago. I did it for ethical reasons and at the time I was worried about what I was going to eat. Within a month it was like discovering a completely new world. The amount of absolutely delicious and cheap meals I discovered was enormous! All whole food, plant based, homemade meals from all over the world. I wish more people knew what they are missing out on by eating standard western and highly processed food. I am not suggesting that what I eat has no impact on the environment but the more people adopt whole food plant based diet or at least predominantly HFPD the better for their health, the planet and the animals.
