But the problem is they use more than 10 different email addresses to send text messages a day I keep blocking them and they still texting from different email addresses, I’m looking to block all email addresses into text and only received text messages from phone numbers, and they still don’t have that option

If you don't want email addresses to send to you the only way to fix that is to disable iMessage, which will allow you to receive SMS and MMS but you will lose out on all the IMessage tools. When you get a text spam, only the bottom email on the list needs to be blocked. The other people are generally victims not perpetrators. Omg I thought I was the only one. 😭😭😭 I just wish apple let you block everyone unless you have them as a contact. They are so annoying I don’t want to be messaged anymore by anyone. I don’t know how they got my number it’s so irritating. This has been happening for years I’m so tired I blocked over 10,000 people it’s so time taking. I never replied but I’ve only blocked them. Please apple fix that I only want to get messages by my contacts everyone else can not. 😩😔😭😭😭

Will ROBO KILLER work on an Android phone? Because I don't have the "filter" feature you're talking about on an iPhone.

So, I have always had Filter Unknown Senders activated, and could never figure out why I could still see them. I just found this which will probably help if you are still seeing the notification. Go to Messages>Notifications (Banners, Sounds, Badges)>Customize Notifications>Deselect Unknown Senders>Repeat Alerts Never (probably not necessary but did it anyway). I think this will solve the problem for people that are tired of seeing notifications like myself, but like The MacWhisperer says, you will still get them. Hopefully this is a solution for everyone. I hate a spammer.

okay D - only one question / issue If you order a lot from Instacart/Doordash etc -- these folks text you from their phones, they are unknown callers and my phone sends that sort of spam away. But I need to be ready when they want to know what to buy in place of X item at the grocery store or are telling me to come outside to get my delivery, etc. We need a fix for this!

Not that hard. The filter doesn't auto-delete those texts, it just filters them. If you go to the unknown filter you will see all those messages. So just leave that filter on (have your text set to show all) and keep your eye on it.

In order to get those features you have to go into settings > messages > unknown and spam and turn on filter Unknown Senders (or download the App roboKiller for additional options)

And sometimes they still appear in your main texts even with my filters on for unknown senders. They also use emails to send these text links to porn or whatever else sites. Smh. It’s so frustrating.

It' super frustrating. When it's a phone number it's just a standard scammer, but when it's an email it means they are using iMessage directly. You can report any email based spams directly to apple by clicking on the "report spam" button that should show up beneath any iMessages when the address is not in your contacts. Make sure to also block those emails when they pop up. It's an imperfect solution, but over time it definitely helps.

Having unknown senders activated does not mean you won't get spam, it just means you can filter it out and separate it from the other messages you get. In the messages app on the phone make sure your filter is set to "known senders" farther than all messages and you won't have those unknown senders pop up in your face anymore.

I have done mostly add of the steps except adding Robokiller. I’m afraid to keep adding apps on my cell. I have even gone into my blocked contacts & all the blocked calls or text messages go in there. I have tried to delete but it doesn’t do that. It only gives u the option to unblock 🤨🤨😠😠. I get like 10 darn text messages & believe me I’m beyond annoyed. There’s got to be another way

What operating system are you on? These features aren't device specific, but they do relate to the version of iOS you are on. The current iOS is iOS14 which is compatible with the iPhone 7. Go to settings, general, software update to see if you have an update available. If you are on iOS 14.6 and still do not see it, reply back with specifically which feature you are missing and I will help you locate it.

click filter unknown callers. They just took away the "unknown and spam" section, but it's the same exact thing.

True, especially when it’s not a legitimate site. In those cases typing stop teaches them they have a proper phone number and they will spam you even more. You need to be clear when it’s legitimate and when it’s just spam.

I just flood the spammers. Lots of email-SMS junk to the scammers. Racks up a big bill on their phone.
