This video I show an example of how I was able to eliminate a low hum I was getting when my system powered up.
I had an idea it was my cable but I was not able to pin point the real reason until I recently switched from wired to wireless. Adding a wireless subwoofer kit into my system. The hum was almost 100% eliminated.

Good tip!! I have never experienced humm sound in my subwoofer so far, but I was wondering how realiable will be a wireless transmiter for a subwoofer, becasuse I heard about some users who were experiencing some signal issues with these devices, I would like to plug my sub right behind my seat too but wireless, your channel will grow up soon, it takes time .. good luck friend

Good tip. I am also having a hum from my sub but I think it is the amplifier. I've disconnected the LFE cable and the hum is still there. Maybe a power conditioner could help with that hum. P.S. How are you enjoying the Tritons? That's how I've discovered your channel :). Personally looking to buy the One.R and the reference center speaker.

@Audiolympian 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the support. Your probably correct about your hum being the amp if it’s still there without the cable. Conditioner might help, could also be a grounding issue. I am loving my Tritons. Now that I have my Anthem AVM 70 = match made in heaven. Thanks for watching

I got a sounbar 5" subwoofer in my room and I connected it to my new TV, before this I would just use Bluetooth and I would never get this hum. But once I connected it to my TV with an hdmi it started humming and since the sub is right next to my bed it's really noticeable and its freaking me out a bit since it has never done this before.

I'm getting a hum from my rocketfish wireless receiver setup. At least that's all I can think of. It's a random hum, like 20 seconds of hum then stops for a few seconds then hum again. It's driving my insane
@Audiolympian

Have you tried changing your cables on your rocketfish transmitter and receiver? That may help. I did notice before, I had gotten some feedback because the cables I was using were too short and the devices were too close to amps and the sub. I switched to longer cables and moved it’s placement and it fixed it

What can cause buzzing when the subwoofer is turned off at the switch but still plugged to power ?
@Audiolympian
@Audiolympian 2 жыл бұрын
Could be a bad power supply, fuse or capacitor. However all units that power on still use a bit of power even when turned off. Could even be a poorly shielded power cable. If you haven’t yet, try plugging it in other places in your house with few other things plugged in around it. A house brings in lots of interferences with power. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching

sir,my pc sub woofer is making a static noise,whats the cause?
@Audiolympian
@Audiolympian 2 жыл бұрын
Most likely it’s the cable, could be loose, maybe it’s age or it could have gotten bent to hard. But some other options could be possible clipping from loud volume. If it’s staticky at all volumes could be a blown resistor or capacitor in the amp. Could possibly be a loose wire connection on the inside to the speaker. Hope that helps.

I have had some annoying issues with the plate amplifier that goes in the back of my Klipsch KSW-12 subwoofer. That subwoofer has always sounded just okay, not great, in comparison to my smaller 10 inch Paradigm PDR-10 subwoofer, both in terms of depth and punch, but the Klipsch does go far louder. Both subs are quite old, late 90s possibly. The problems I have had with the Klipsch one are as follows. 1: if turned up too loud or used in a big room, especially for music, the fuse on the back can sometimes blow out. 2: the fuse holder is fragile. I had to replace it. 3: Sometimes, after I turn my receiver off and have the subwoofer plugged into the same circuit, there will be a low hum. It starts off quiet, but slowly gets louder and louder and then turns into a deafening rumble! it sounds like hmmmmmmmMMMMMMMMBUbuBUbuBUbuBUbu, and it lasts until you unplug the subwoofer, then slowly fades out. This seems to be dependent on the way the power cable is placed, and happens more often if I coil it to get it out of the way, 4: on certain bass notes, especially in movie explosion scenes and certain hip hop bass lines, the note is not quite clear. it stutters or flutters, as if the amp is cutting in and out every 10th of a second. I discovered that this isn’t a port or driver problem, because it sounded better when I hooked it up to the plate amp that goes in the back of my Paradigm subwoofer. Should I just buy a new subwoofer? I heard that early KSW-12 subs had a known bad batch of plate amps, and they ended up switching manufacturers!

Sounds to more to me like a main power source issue. The power of the house. Sometimes builders can put too many outlets on one line which picks up major interference and power consumption causing hums and buzzes. But to answer your question, yes I’d get a more updated and newer sub. You’ll appreciate the less hassle. Hope that helps and thanks for watching

I also was experiencing a hum or possibly a grounding whenever a signal was passed to my high-performance REL subwoofers and after trying several different sub leads it was only when I forked-out for quality CHORD SHAWLINE sub leads that my unwanted noise had finally been eliminated! But there was one unexpected benefit I hadn't realised when forking out for expensive leads and that was... just how much more the Dynamics of the low-end had improved!

The reason why your getting a hum noise is because your still using RCA cable if your using a XLR cable in subwoofer you won't get that hum noise RCA cable is outdated! XLR cable is better for noise rejection and shielding also better audio quality today we don't used RCA cable anymore we used HDMI or XLR on prepro modern processors.

two deferent standards, you should probably mention ground loops, difference between balanced audio cables and unbalanced cables ect ect. XLR/TRS is nothing new is is used in professional applications for years, while RCA is rather home enthusiast standard for less demanding audioholics
