I'm pretty sure that the most likely scenario is that ET rational beings would be humanoid like. There's hardly any physical way that a being could achieve rational and creative behaviour without being humanoid like, unless it would had some kind of very powerful telekinetic powers although I don't think that's plausible.

If they are as technically and biologically millions of years more evolved then why would they treat us any differently than how we treat chickens? In fact even the pets owned by the space aliens would likely be far ahead of humans both intellectually and biologically. Also human history of ongoing wars, cheating, stealing, violence and lies clearly showcases humans can't be trusted. This means humans would simply become either categorized as vermin to be destroyed, food to be eaten, destructive species to be exterminated, interesting lifeforms to be traded on the black market of the universe, enslaved for work on similar Earth type planets, reprogrammed for galactic wars or maybe a few lucky survivors would end up as pets.

Any aliens advanced and motivated enough to launch an interstellar invasion would be so technologically superior to us that we'd stand little to no chance of successfully resisting them. As much as we may hate to admit it, our best options would be to run and hide or quickly surrender. Going to war would be like trying to win a fist fight against a gorilla.

Yeah, if they have the technology to reach our solar system, they wouldn't even need to launch a typical Hollywood style invasion. They'd just irradiate the planet, or lob hundreds of asteroids of similar size to the one that wiped out the dinosaurs from orbit. Or if they're intent on stealing resources outside of Earth, they could just have huge mining ships collect stuff from our other planets and moons, and there'd be absolutely nothing we could do about it. And I'm sure they'd collect samples of bacteria/viruses/parasites on our planet for immunizations in case they do need to land on our planet and not be immediately wiped out by our germs.

@@jiaqir369 Yes, if we retreated and lived to fight another day, we'd surely try to harass and sabotage their operations. I just don't think it would be very effective against against a civilization hundreds, thousands or millions of years ahead of us. And they'd probably use robots to hunt us instead of risking their own lives or be post-biological altogether.
