here we have a man admitting that males doing women's health are sexual predators. i NEVER go to a male physician and this is exactly why. this is also why males are getting pushed out of the field. it's not their business and they are jacking off to what they see. moreover, i do my own prenatal care and birth with only a "lay" attendant. "lay" and yet she knows more about birth than any ob ever will! :)

It is really disturbing to me how perfectly accurate this is. I'm in fourth year now, and it is Candy Land compared to the raging dumpster fire of my life that was the other three years. I got so burnt out in the first three years, I took a year off to go get a two year degree, and that was actually a break. Almost done with interviews now and I am so looking forward to next year when I actually get paid and my badge opens doors and unlocks computers instead of just wastes plastic.

Retired attending... it’s funny how we all have a shared experience no matter if we graduated from med school in 1979, 1999 or 2021. We are really all connected, because while the information and the knowledge changes, the experience stays the same. I can look at any doctor and automatically know that we have a connection based on our shared experience no matter where we went to medical school or residency. We all “get” each other. If you don’t understand what I’m saying then you didn’t go to medical school.

Hey, doctor Z...I’m not sure what to call you, I’m new to the channel. I was hoping you could give me a bit of advice. I know for a fact that I want to work in a field of medicine. I love learning about maladies, reading research articles, and I like the idea of being a lifelong student. I am especially fascinated by the future of oncology. There’s literally nothing else that captivates my mind to this extent. I thought that I wanted to be a doctor, but I suffer from bipolar depression and anxiety and was diagnosed last year, before I began college. I’ve been reading about the rates of physician burnouts and suicide rates and I’m no longer sure if I should still become a doctor. My first semester I got a 4.0, but this year has been really hard and my grades have slipped. I’ve forgotten how to take care of myself. I’m considering becoming a PA, but I’m not sure if I can completely let go of my MD dream. I know that only I can make this decision, but I would love some insight

Aussie RN here. This totally explains so many of our interns/residents. 😂 And the med students. For some reason, the med students never expect me to talk directly to them. When I do, they look at me as though I’m a cat that’s begun reciting poetry. It’s like... hi, yes, you might need to talk to us nurses sometime. Or maybe they don’t cover that in mes school til fourth year?
@franciscofletes1948
@franciscofletes1948 2 жыл бұрын
That’s more of an intern year thing... a first year Med student is just worrying about surviving the next block of exams, a second year is just hoping to make it past step 1, a third year is just worried about the residency match... 4th year they rejoin society and try to relearn or develop interpersonal skills as they have a normal conversation with another non fellow student for the first time in 3 years, and intern year they learn the importance in communicating with nurses as they will either help you thrive in residency or terrorize you on call depending on the level of humility or narcissism you display as an intern.. lol

Memorize a bunch of shit and don't ask questions is the key to success in any advanced degree or licensing exam. People stress themselves out by challenging and doubting the information given to them, and asking what if this and that. Spitting the answer out that they want to see on the exam is all that matters. Worry about the ifs and buts when it comes the real world.

Shout Yolo I do here in America. It’s crazy not to invest in more med schools and residencies in the USA and UK. The Patients want doctors they can relate to and understand. It’s strongly believed and taught in America that underrepresented minorities respond better to doctors and nurses they can relate to. Also, we don’t screen foreign doctors from incompatible cultures. If you come from, and are indoctrinated in a misogynistic or homophobic background, the patient will pick up on your lack of compassion.
