Engine mounts are a vital part of your engine. I’ll show you how to swap every engine mount on this Ford Focus Mk1. Every step is shown so that you too can make this a diy garage project.
The mounts I used are better than factory replacements, made by Vibra Technics, and bought from Burton Automotive in the UK - specialists in Ford performance parts.
Here are the links to the mounts in case you need them:

Glad to see that we have another car person on our hands - these are great little cars to drive 👍 Buy yourself some parts cleaner spray from an auto parts store, cover up your fuse box and battery with plastic bags, spray on and hose off with water. Let it all dry, and then hit the plastics with some armor all or tire shine. Wipe it all off with a rag. You will be amazed :)

I watched this video a couple times before i swapped my mounts. This is Zetec engine in the video, same mounts go for 1.8 TDCI 100PS (74kW). Great video, it helped me a lot! :D I only had one big problem that took me hours of work: A bolt in the third mount, was stuck in a mount itself, and when i tried to unscrew it, the bolt head just poped off. Like a cut. The M10 thread was not stuck, but the bolt body through the mount. Friend told me this could happen if the bolt is made of steel, and the mount body made of alloy. Not sure why this would happen but it did, so i had to cut the mount with a grinder in several places until i took it off finally, and then unscrew the M10 thread peace that was left. I practically did an 8 hour job just on this one mount. The first and the second mount went just like in the video. It took only an hour to replace both of them. Thank you for a very useful video, hope you make some more videos on this focus.

Thank your for this video, it really helped. But there is one ting you probably didn't notice: the outer bolt hole in the torque link bracket (the side the bolt head rests on) has a bushing in it with an interference fit. So when you tighten the bolt, this bushing tightens up against the bushing of the torque link. The bushing in the bracket can easily be pushed back using channel locks, so you have clearance to fit the new torque link. So you didn't have the remove material from your torque link's bushing.

Tell you what I've been thinking about and I can't find anything on KZfaq about it , I had a 1.3 Mk2 Escort with a oil separator for the crankcase ventilation with a PCV the same as the valve on the 1.8 / 2.0 Zetec engines can the oil separator on the 1.8/2.0 be removed and cleaned out ? I know the valve and pipe on the back of the engine can as I swapped mine out for a more rigid poly pipe which makes it breath better for the crankcase Is this something you can look at ?

Hey David, just wanted to give you a heads-up mate, I took a look and the oil separator is buried under the exhaust header once the engine is in the car, so I can't get to it unless I remove the headers and a few other bits. It doesn't look like I'll be able to do this any time soon so hoping you manage to find an answer without me. And if you do let me know! To be honest looking at your engine on a stand, you'd be in a better position to take the oil separator off so if you do end up doing this, let me know how it goes... Cheers for now.
