That's right, when you do the sequence, all the keys get reprogrammed, even the old one.

Thanks for your comment :) Only one CV Axle Boot was torn, so I left the other one alone. But now that I know how easy it is to change, I'll change the other one as soon as it starts to leak.

Great video! I've noticed in couple of your videos that your frame rate on your camera is not aligned with the lights in your garage, thats why they are flickering on the video

We should join forces. I replaced my '03 Focus CV axles when I replaced it's clutch. Then I replaced the CV axles on my friend's '08 Outback. I also replaced the output shaft seals while I was at it, and also replaced the gear oil. Each car took longer than 15 minutes.

Hey man, first of all, thank you so much for the video. I did the timing belt change :D. I tried to hear the cars sound before I did the change but the battery was dead and I didnt have a jump starter so went ahead with the change, also changed the serp belt, timign belt tensioner, idler and cam and crank seals. I then bought a powerbank to jump start and then started the car up. It runs fine-ish. So I also had to follow some of the steps from kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fbl4nNqBncfPo58.html&ab_channel=1AAuto%3ARepairTips%26SecretsOnlyMechanicsKnow since they did a more step by step tear down of the vehicle. so for the engine mount I torqued the bolts on the engine to 80nm and the ones on the chasis to 50nm. - The car vibrates very slightly when I climb hills, I guess I have to torque down the bolts to 80nm - Theres a slight ticking noise, idk if this was there before or if the belt tensioner is not adjusted correctly or if its just the fuel injectors clicking, I uploaded a video here -> kzfaq.info/get/bejne/l5p-oZmmup-aiKs.html&ab_channel=SaifAbdulCassim - Do you think I have to be worried about the clicking? does your car make a similar noise? its coming from near the back of the engine, as I said I dont have sounds from before the repair to directly compare since the battery was dead, but last it ran I dont think it made this noise, maybe I am being paranoid. i am planning to do a coolant flush in a few weeks, I wanna use the car regularly till then, so that I can flush things out in sequence, will also do a water pump change then, was thinking I ll tear into the engine again during that time and give the timign belt tensioner and idler a final torque, what do you think?

Hello my friend... first of all, congratulations on having such a well-sorted Focus Mk1... I applaud you! They are great cars. I saw your video and it very much sounds like injector tick. This is at the back of the engine so it makes sense that you are hearing the noise from here... The injectors ticking is absolutely nothing to worry about. They just get noise as they get old (tolerances increase inside the injector). If it does bother you, simply change out the injectors for new ones and your noise will be gone :) Appreciate you watching!

Hey great video, could someone please help the noob here: I'm upgrading my own Mk1 focus and want to do the same thing here. vendors tell me the products are not compatible, but I believe it's due to them just taking standard listings not factoring in changing the cables. If I'm following this correctly the upgraded cables are what make this MSD coil compatible with the Mk1?
@Horus_Works
@Horus_Works 13 күн бұрын
Hi John, I would say get the coils too... The MSD coil pack gives you a bigger spark so standard coils may be too weak for that. Here are all the details from the seller: massivespeedsystem.com/collections/mk1-mk2-focus/products/massive-speed-msd-coil-ignition-pack-00-04-ford-focus-zetec

@@Horus_Works Thanks for the response, I wish I had seen it sooner as it would have saved me some money! Yeah I had to by the ignition coils separately from the MSD coil pack but it looks like its the same products. I'm getting everything installed with a cold air intake filter in a weeks time; can't wait to see the improvement. Thanks again.

A handy hint - I remove the oil cap last just before taking the black coil cover off. When I do, I place a rag rolled up in a ball stuffed reasonably tight into the hole whilst removing the black coil cover. Same but opposite when putting it all back together. The last thing you want is dirt, a screw or rubber grommet from the back of the coil cover falling into the oil cap hole & ending up somewhere you can't reach it. I also put a very thin smear of copper grease on the new plug threads. Love your videos but not as much as my BA XR6 Ute. Cheers
