It can be a stressful experience switching from an old phone to a new one especially when you move from an iPhone to an Android phone. In recent years, companies like Google and Samsung have made it quite easy to go from your iPhone 6S Plus with a cracked screen to a Galaxy Note 10 with an Infinity-O display.
We show you a few different ways to transfer photos, videos, music, files, wallpaper and even your threaded iMessage history.

I went from iphone to pixel and it was super easy and surprised me that all my stuff moved over. Only thing I miss is imessage, forgot just how pants sms is.

Helpful information, so thanks for posting. I've been an Apple guy since 1983, so I'm pretty much baked into the whole Apple mantra. Even so, I'm growing long in the tooth with some of the design philosophies under Tim Cook. I've been toying with the idea of switching over to android for the last couple of years, but if I do, it will be for something on the high-end scale. I run the risk of buyers' remorse, so I decided to check out this video to see just how easy it is to switch over. The process is a bit scary in so much that it's not just the new phone but the trend to go with wearables. Apple excels in this area with the AirPods Pro and Apple Watch. Granted, they don't quite work as advertised that is way ahead of everybody else. However, the new Motorola Razr has caught my attention in a big way. I will likely buy into one of these as a separate stand-alone account while retaining my Apple gear and ecosystem. It's a risky proposition, but your video has demonstrated just how easy this may be.

For WhatsApp, use WA's built-in backup which will backup all messages and files. Find it in WhatsApp Settings/Chats/Chats Backup

I just purchased a Samsung Galaxy S21 and transferred my notes from my IPhone 6 from my iCloud account. You first go into settings on your iPhone and turn on notes. Upload to ICloud all notes then use Smart switch app downloaded to iPhone to transfer your notes. Hope this helps. ❤️

There's an app on my iPhone that you can't download anymore (not flappy bird) that I want to move to my new note 10 plus and smart switch couldn't transfer it. Is there a way I can transfer that app?

If thier was no Google play version then no. If thier was and it's not on the play store anymore, you can download the apk online, and if it is thier, you should be able to rebuy it. You can tdownload apps on iOS for free on Android if thier paid apps

You can back up WhatsApp messages on your old phone and then restore the backup on the new one 🙂

Dumb question, but will this transfer over iTunes playlists, or just the songs themselves? Also, what about movies, tv series and music video’s with the drm removed? I have a couple hundred smart and non smart playlists made up of over 11,000 songs. I also have in my iTunes library 72 movies, 18 tv series, and 172 music video’s. So the capacity limit of 512 gb on an iPhone no longer cuts it for me, I need that 1Tb capacity. I really am sick of apples ecosystem and limited iPhone capacity but do not want to waste a month of my life, reorganising about 580 odd gb of data and playlist info etc. Am I trapped in the Hel of apple ecosystem, or does meticulously maintained metadata and playlist info copy over? I know, I know, we are all supposed to just rent songs per month etc, but I own my smegging music from cd’s etc though some is from iTunes. TIA.

Very much appreciate the information you provide, thank you. Suggestion, turn off the background music. We came to hear you not music which quickly becomes background noise. Many folks have hearing issues, many have language comprehension issues, thus fighting the background music becomes extremely annoying.

I did switch to the Iphone 12 mini from my Pixel 5 for about 2 weeks(just for the fun of it)... well I'm ready to switch back but only missing those 2 weeks worth of sms/txt/call logs that I'd like to transfer over.. any tips on that? I'd prefer not to reset the Pixel phone to use the dongle/wired transfer. I'm debating on losing those 2 weeks vs going through the rigoramoral of resetting.

Checkout Google Play Music. I believe you can transfer playlists from iTunes.

It's a USB-A to USB-C adapter and should have come in the box with your phone. If not you can find one on Amazon for under $10.

this is not working for me. I have done the backup on my iphone, and I see the content on the google drive app. than I turned on my android phone(redmi note 8 pro) and can not see any fresh google drive backup at all. nothing saved really on google drive just on the app shows that on iphone
