What worries me about these rapid tests and PCR, is how much medical waste is being generated from the millions and millions of contaminated waste plastic that is most likely ending up in landfill

You didnt sterilize your hands as others say to do. Then saying a few drops some will think that is and others think its fiive why not have one number to stop any confusion or give a range. The text is too small for me in the packet and I didnt have my glasses with me. So I had to wait till I got home.

Thank you for providing a clear demonstration on how to administer the test. Each time I have been sick with covid symptoms I've been too unwell to read the little text that comes with the kit. I have no idea why I haven't thought of looking for a video explanation sooner- probably had something to do with being deliriously ill at the time!

Back around 2009 when working with Swine Flu (H1N1) we also had the rapid response swabs. If rapid response came back positive we isolated the person while waiting for serology testing. Rapid response was always a correct positive.

One thing to keep in mind about rapid antigen testing is it's more accurate than PCR in detecting asymptomatic cases. So yes, while PCR may provide more accurate results for symptomatic infection, it won't be as accurate against asymptomatic. I'd be curious how prevalent asymptomatic infection is.

If you get no line on the control line the test must be repeated. If you keep having problems try the saliva kit pen version rather than the nasal swab.

So if we purchase a rapid antigen test, how long does it last on the shelf? Also giving no numbers on how much they actually cost & the PCR costs means you've just given zero information to someone who'd want to know how much they are.

Joe - look it up, stop requiring spoon feeding mate. About $20 a pop. About 12 months on the shelf is stored correctly. There are different brands coming onto the market, so those figures could vary.

@@joebywan I find that if a video is unsatisfactory at explaining something, I'll have a quick look myself to see if you can find the missing info that I'm chasing. Otherwise, it looks like a cry out for someone like me to do the leg work for you. I think it is the way you worded your query. You asked directly for a price and use by date - which again to me looks like you want someone to give you an answer - especially the first sentence. Apologies if it was just a critique of the video in the form of a rhetorical question. I misunderstood.
