ABOUT US:
Life’s better on Australian built oversized U shaped road wheels for a third of the big brand price. 10/11 Speed Compatible, High TG heat resistant resins, advanced kevlar anti fracture, true tension 2 to 1 spoke ratios are just the start of how we’ll help make your next carbon wheelset choice really easy. Caden builds wheels for road racers, triathletes & every day riders that want wide blunt profiles, stiff durable hand spoking, 3 year warranty & helpful Aussie service.
WHAT IS INCLUDED
Our full carbon fibre wheels come with everything you’ll need to get riding fast with no fuss or missing pieces. Wheels include FREE valve extenders with Teflon sealant (to avoid nasty valve leaks), FREE ceramic composite brake pads, FREE rim tape & FREE lightweight titanium skewers.
THE RIDE
Caden wheels are meticulously hand spoked with elbow out wide flange placement on the front and 2 to 1 spoke ratio on the rear to make sure your wheel corners correctly, accelerates without lag & doesn’t make noise. I’m 6ft 4inches 95kg and build the wheels to withstand riding pressures above the norm so you can enjoy them for years to come. All our wheels undergo rigorous testing and we stand by them with a 3 year warranty plus a generous crash replacement policy (that we hope you’ll never have to use but hey #hit happens and if it does we’ll look after you).
SERVICE
External nipples, sealed bearings & true tension spoke patterns make Caden’s long lasting and very easy to maintain. Our subtle stealth logos are hand printed in house with a 2 pack epoxy ink that doesn’t come off unlike stickers that can flap after a few races. For our last wheel print, we used less than 10 grams of ink for 40 wheels compared to a single sticker weighing between 1-2 grams.

This note is to let others who may be considering tubular tyres know about my experience. I have always struggled with tubeless tires my MTB and even more with clinchers & inner tubes on my road bike. I was expecting something similar or worse from tubulars. However, I cannot believe how easy they are to fit and remove, particularly when used with the adhesive tape. I replayed this video a few times because I thought I must have missed a step because it was too easy. The most significant difference for me was just how easy it is to get the tyres over the rim (no tyre levers or sore thumbs needed). My first set of tubular tyres had a slow leak, so after a few weeks I removed them and refitted a new set (the same brand but a different model), and again it was super-easier. Maybe I have been very lucky, but so far these are far & away the easiest type of tyres I've ever fitted or removed from a bike. And, I no longer carry a spare inner tube, tyre levels or a pump; just a light-weight can of tyre Vittoria Pit Stop (don't know if it works, because I haven't had a flat yet).

ahall3823 The problem with tubulars is the time you need to clean out the glue, so tape is much faster however I have to warn you do not descents using tape. Always glue the tire properly to the rim specially if doing fast descents. For riding around in flat lands tape is safe and easier than glue. I prefer clinchers simply due to the easy installation and tube repair.

Hi there, thanks for the video. I am "restoring" my nice road bike from 1981 (thank you Corona). I followed your instructions putting a 21 (?) mm Conti tire on the original aluminum rims. I got some Jantex tape (I could not find yours), I was a bit wary when I read good for two tires and I saw the cut off overlap used by your technique. In anticipation I saved the cut off pieces. (How can you tell how much extra tape is on the roll). Of course I was missing 3-4 inches :-( . Well I still managed, as I patched up the remaining gap and it worked out great. Can't wait for a test ride this evening. Greetings from California SL

Loved the info on the video but it would be better to actually have your camera pointing more on the wheel while putting on the tape. It goes out of the picture when you have the wheel at your feet.

After fixing the tubular tyre on the rim with glue, the excess base tape is exposing almost uniformly along the rim edges. However, the rubber tread pattern is not running really straight (slight left and right movement) when it rolls. I have tried to re-adjust the tyre while it is still freshly mounted but it is still the same. The rim was just trued too. Any idea this tread pattern not rolling perfectly straight is normal?

I don't get the reason for taping over the valve hole. And he says "you don't want any bonding surface" but the tape is bonding/sticky, so what's the idea? Set on repeat 5 times and now I get it: To be able to get a backing strip outside the rim, for pulling afterwards, WITHOUT exposing any sticky tape just beside the valve hole, you need to start before the holoe(not after as he says) to get some free backingtape to leave outside the rim.

How difficult is it to remove the tape to replace your tire. This is great I like what you are doing and would consider purchasing your product, however this is on a new tire. What is it like when you are replacing a used taped tire?

I hope you found an answer! But not hard at all to remove the tape. Same with the tubs, I remember removing a Tubi that was glued and one that was taped and both feel about the same force it is required to remove them off the rim

Hi, if I already put around 40ml/50ml of liquid sealant in my tubular tire and pumped them up to 90 psi, are my tires literally f*cked up? ;) I applied the liquid sealant when I installed the tires, I am using 25mm tufo hi composite carbon. I’ve done a couple of ride so far… I did this cos I heard it might help me sort out any future punctures …

You convinced me. And I hate you for it. My experience with tubulars has been horrible. I had to remove the old cement to be able to install them. That took several days of intensive labor. Then I had to shell out $200 for tires, $20 for rim tape, $20 for tire sealant. Then guess what happened. I got a puncture at the top of a hill. I had to walk my bike back 6 miles to where I could get reception to call someone to take me home, because you can't repair that shit on the road. Barefoot walk, because you can't walk in road shoes --> blisters on feet. And now I have to go through the process of replacing the tire again. And for all that work do you know how much faster I am? SIGNIFICANTLY SLOWER actually. They climb slower, as the tape that adheres them to the rim FLEXES it off the rim as you crank the bike back and forth while climbing, resisting the motion and making climbing more labor intensive. To make matters worse, the extremely high pressures that I had to pump the tire to in order to keep it safely on the rim and prevent it from popping off in a hard corner on a downhill stretch make the bike extremely twitchy. I had never experienced death wobble until I ran tubbies, now I experience it every time I descend. It's terrifying. And because the tape flexes under the tire, when I try to corner at speed, such as on a descent, the tire resists the cornering motion. I replaced my front zipp 303 tubby with my old Easton SLX aluminum clincher and I took 1.5 minutes off a 10 minute climb and a full minute off the descent, no speed wobble. I have never been more dissappointed to have listened to a bunch of "experts"
