As we get older, shoulders become more sensitive. I recommend a short-stroke, about half the full movement, and it should be the bottom half not the top half. Why? 1. The top half brings in more shoulders which is the problem we are trying to avoid. 2. Research has found that partial reps when the muscle is in an elongated position are more effective than partial reps when the muscle is shortened. The bottom of the rep is when the chest muscle is at maximum stretch.

You can still do the low To High raise to isolate the upper chest but you do need to raise the cable and start with you arms more out to the side, the fist excercise you demonstrated is literally just a front delt raise so no wonder it hits the front delts more than upper chest

When I first saw a low to high chest fly I thought it was a cable front raise ppl do for there shoulders

the problem is ur doing it like a front raise that's why you only feel it in you're front delts. focus on pulling with ur chest and you only go up to shoulder height that's when ur upper chest is fully contracted.

Sadly, I have to do it the first way and work out two muscle groups. Just cause my upper chest likes the first workout more I get extremely sore and a huge pump. Imma try to get down the 2nd one with some extreme focus on contracting that Pectoralis Major.

Probably posture, pop your chest out, bring your shoulders back and down

I like to just grip the pec fly machine at Planet Fitness about 6 inches higher than the handles are and lower my seat all the way :D

No because a dumbell press has a fixed path which is only up and down. With the cables, you are able to do a cross body press which does not have a fixed path and it keeps tension on your upper chest a lot more than simple dumbell presses.

Good vid but to feel more chest isolation with the first excercise you start with your arms bent at a 90 degree angle and walk out a few steps before starting the motion

I literally love doing this exercise , I wanted to ask that will it help in muscle hypertrophy? Since I can't lift alot of weight in this right now

yeah for sure! Any sort of adequate stimulation of the muscle can result in muscle hypertrophy

nah you're still using your shoulder....guys honestly if you want a better upper chest.. flat bench...dumbbell bench. machine chest press. and to actually build a bigger chest you also gotta build bigger tris.

LMAO you did it WRONG in the first exercise. You do it WRONG so it does NOT work. You need to learn how to do it properly. The second exercise is LESS effective for upper chest dude😂
