I appreciate this hands on showing us how to use this. As you know, autism being genetic, a lot of parents, 🙋🏼‍♀️me included, need visually shown how to do something or else we can get it to help out autistic children, so you are doing us a great service, keep up the hard work, long nights and days, and neverending love mama! 💕

This is wonderful! Thanks so much for sharing. I just learned about AAC and would like to try it with my non-verbal brother. May I know which AAC app were you using on the Ipad?

She has a novachat. BUt touchchat on Ipad is the same thing and owned by the same company

@@Bostongirltv Are you able to customize the buttons so that it shows a photo you took of something instead of using the default drawings the app comes with.

@@carmelabower5205 Yes you can customize everything. Change buttons. But I would advise you to get the speech therapist involved also. We started with 10 buttons now she has over 30 on a page. There are also ways to look for things I wouldn't change. The software has different pages to change it to once they get it. Such as 30 words on the page and 60 words on a page that has all the basics to how to use the device

My 4 year old autistic nonverbal son just got one yesterday. What is the best way to teach him? He’s kind of playing with it but is still trying to learn & does sometimes do it intentionally

Start modeling it with him. You need to learn it also to teach him. So let say he wants juice, First you do it. then the next time take his fingers to model to ask for juice. Then you say use your words and if he tries give it to him. But he has to use the words to get it. Do that for everything
