Width affects how fabric falls on your upper body so it’s always about how it compares to the rest of the upper body, not the hips!

Wait so, in your other video you mentioned it was about a straight line, from your torso. Does this mean its not about the straight line, but about that part beong the widest? Im confused!:)

@@jorindehoek5324 If the shoulder seams are so far apart that they are the widest point, there is this straight line because the bust doesn’t go far out enough to interrupt it (if that happened the bust would be the widest point, the line would be curved and there wouldn’t be width). You can see it in Jennifer Lopez here.

If you put on a tank top, measure from the outer part of one strap to the outer part of the other strap. Then, see if your hips or waist are larger/ smaller than that measurement. If your shoulders are the widest, then you are a type of natural.

She does define it as being where the sleeves are attached though. The other video basically shows the same thing, two different shapes on the natural’s torso, the top shape being wider than the bottom. In a dramatic the line is completely straight, it doesn’t create a wider shape first.

I will make an updated video very soon! Basically in the old video I am trying to show the shape that width creates, which is harder to understand.

Basically a regularly constructed shoulder seam is supposed to be right on top of your acromion, which is the bone directly above your shoulder joint. (This is perfectly shown in the image of J.Lo) Any other type of shoulder seam is not working for this visual. You could as well just look at yourself in front of a mirror without any clothes on, feel for that said bone and imagine a straight line starting at this bone down your upper body. If it is the widest point, you're some sort of natural. I personally have a pretty straight line from that bone down my upper torso before the waist tapers in. The acromion in my case also IS wider apart than my hip bones. Describing it with shoulder seams instead of using the name of the actual bone makes is visually easier but can complicate it due to different sleeve seam constructions.

So I have a question if my shoulder seam is the same width as the distance between my armpits, then would I be considered a natural? (Both the shoulder seam and armpit distance are the widest parts of my upper body)

@@JuliaKirsty just looked up the acromion joint and I think that helps because I didn’t really understand what point of the shoulder. If that’s the case then I think it’s even or maybe slightly more in than my bust? I still have a hard time seeing

Basically if the “shoulders” as explained here are the widest part, you are a natural because your width interrupts the fabric. If the bust is the widest point, curve interrupts the fabric (so you might be R, TR, SD, SC or SG). If neither the shoulders nor the bust do anything, the fabric just falls down in a straight line which is vertical. That’s why Ds do very sleek silhouettes, it’s a straight line that stays close to the body.

I'm sure you know that many people are still aware, and would love an update with clearly visible silhouette photos of confirmed celebrities, and drawing exactly what is meant. Unfortunately, this does remain to be the hardest thing to understand so far. (Second one probably what it means to have blended vs contrasted yin/yang). I would LOVE to see an update from you that also draws and explains what you have commented here

I'm also confused between naturals and gamine cuz I'm also the same height, my shoulders are the widest part but idk if it's blunt or sharp, I see you have wider hips which makes you one of the 5 soft types, but if I misunderstood and your upper body is wider then could be the yang versions of any type, cuz kibbe is about how fabric falls on you, so top to bottom, hope this helps.

Gamines can’t have width, they have to be petite which is the opposite of width.

@@stylechat sorry i meant that have traditional width occasionally, not kibbe width, so when drawing imaginary fabric, let's say Halle Berry as an example, because she has some traditional width to her the fabric may come down on her the way it would a natural, or am i misunderstanding haha
