Ok testing a good relay is fairly simple and easy. I just happen on this video looking for other things. Just a suggestion, maybe you should show how to test a relay when it is bad. For example; how a relay acts when it kills the battery, or when it causes a car to stall,

finally, used to own a chevy malabu and got off work and the damn thing wouldnt start, long story short, i thought fuse, nope, then modual.... i swaped the a/c modual for the ignition modual, and wa la. but i dint know how to test them, back then it was around 20 bucks, now...geez..... thanx bro for the info.!👍

I did the test just as you did on your video, and I then tested "1" and "2," and got continuity, but when I used my test light and the volt meter setting to 20 volts, I got no current. Do one and two only get power from another source?

I have a 3 wire Standard Ignition RY 300 how do you test that. Can not find any info anywhere.

My odyssey has a problem that appears to be the starter staying engaged for a few seconds when started in cold weather. After that initial start I have no problems throughout the day until the next morning. I replaced both starter cut relays, and then I replaced the starter. Still no change. Could this ignition relay be sticking? I started pushing the start button without applying the brake a few times the last few mornings before starting and that grinding noise as if the starter was staying engaged has almost gone away as if applying voltage to the relay has caused it not to stick?? Not sure..please advise. Thank You

So ignition relays are similar on all cars just make sure its the right one. My car got a new fuel pump and the relay was being weird so I swapped two like relays fixed the pump but then my dashlights went out. The car previously stalled and had loss of power but only sometimes. Now I'm trying to figure out if it's the ignition relay or sometbing else in the fuel system.

I specifically read that ignition relays will cause your dashlights to go out. What's even weirder is my car is wired to a switch for interior, running and brake lights. Those all work but my dashlights that are connected to that switch don't work

ik this was 2 years ago but did you ever figure out if it was just your ignition relay? because mine does the same thing sometimes it won’t even turn on or it’ll run and die and turn it self on while driving
