What happens to the fourth thread? Only three threads are mentioned to pull to the back.

Hello, How do you use smaller spools of threads. It's not clear to me how to use the spool caps.

Basically the spool caps are for the types of spools that have a cut in the plastic to secure the thread tail when the spool is being stored. Threads that feed off the end of such spools could get caught on that notch, so the spool cap would keep that from happening. If your smaller spools don't have any rough edges then the spool caps would be unnecessary.
