Hi Karen. Thank you sooo much for doing this video. My machine just stopped serging tonight. I will try this in the morning. Your video looks clear. Wish me luck. I haven't ever threaded it since buying it. It's summer vacation so hoping to learn more. xx Karen

I want to thank you on the demo because I put the thread in the little round tension disk to the bobbin but did not come out around the small hook could not figure out why my thread wanted to all go to the bottom of the bobbin, then I watched your video and sure enough you had the answer, just like I thought you would. Thank you so much,

I picked up an older Janome serger at my local sew shop for fifty bucks! It had been cleaned and serviced and had new upper and lower knifes. It only came with one foot, but that’s okay - it was a steal! I wish I could do ALL my sewing on that fantastic little machine. I use it for nearly every seam and just saw a video on how to hem with a serger. Best fifty bucks I ever spent!

This sounds like some kind of bait and switch set up. I have been to your store, over the past 30 years I have purchased four different machines from you. I would not hesitate to get my next machine from you. This promotion must have sounded better in your head. I thought I would leave the feedback for your future promotions. If I didn’t already know you to be an excellent helpful honest place to shop I would not go near it from this video.

Hi there, thanks for responding, and thanks for your kind words & support over the years. Just to clarify, there are two different (but related) promotions offered in this video. One is the promotion created by Baby Lock about placing a refundable deposit to pre-order one of their new machines, and receive pre-order perks. We're really excited about this new machine, and want to share the news & share Baby Lock's promotional offer with everyone. The second promotion is from Montavilla. In a nutshell, Montavilla is offering big discounts on our remaining Solaris Vision floor model packages, which include the option to trade that back in at 100% value towards the new machine when it comes out, and still receive the upcoming machine's pre-order perks. If there is any more confusion about either promotion, feel free to reach out to us at [email protected]. Thanks!

Are you new to sewing? Youre supposed to fold the fabric twice to make a hem on jeans. The overlocked edge will get worn out so dont hem jeans like that..Also, you should.overlock your garment pieces before you seam them, its a lot easier and it makes seaming much easier too.

how do you adjust the bottom tension on the b77 bernette
@MontavillaSewingАй бұрын
For balanced tension it is best to adjust the top thread tension. But if necessary you can adjust the tension on the bobbin case. There should be a tiny screw on the side that takes a flat-bladed screw driver. Only make small adjustments, like a quarter turn or less, before testing it out.

I bought the Babvlock Allegro brand new in the box, why is the thread bunching up on the back of the fabric? How do I fix this, I finally figured out how to get a nice straight stitch. Purchased in Canada too, is Babylock dumping their lemon machines in Canada?
@MontavillaSewingАй бұрын
First, try rethreading the machine - see my video here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/j7NderN6zbKZpJ8.html. Also, check the back on your straight seam - the top thread tension may need to be increased to get a balanced thread tension. And lastly, whenever you start to sew, lightly hold the thread tails for the first few stitches. Hope that helps.

These videos are an absolute life saver. I just bought a Janome 3160 machine after sewing on on the same antiquated machine for the last 30 years. When using the 0 foot, the 1/4 inch foot, and stitch number 6, so needle is to the right. Why does the reverse button not work with needle in that position?
@MtnDancingLady2 ай бұрын
Soooo appreciative of these little lessons for the Janome S6!!! Do you have a video on hemming pants and are there rolled hemmed presser feet for this sewing machine?
@MontavillaSewing2 ай бұрын
Yes, you can get rolled hem feet. Get a wider foot, like the 6mm - it is easier to use than the narrow one. For my jeans hem tutorial see kzfaq.info/get/bejne/oZ6Jlc2m1bbOiJ8.html&pp=ygUjbW9udGF2aWxsYSBzZXdpbmcgY2VudGVycyBqZWFucyBoZW0%3D

@antoniokinsey40412 ай бұрын
I thought my buttonhole automatic foot was broken, so I took my machine to store store I bought it from and it worked fine there. The instructions in the manual, as well as the KZfaq videos don’t explain that the fabric has to end up under the sensor, so when your trying to sew holes on a narrow placket and you don’t know, it won’t work.
@MontavillaSewing2 ай бұрын
You might try putting a piece of tearaway stabilizer under the part of the garment where you are sewing the buttonhole. Then when are done, you can just tear away the stabilizer right next to the buttonhole stitches on the back.

How can I unjam the bobbin raceway from a thread getting caught in it? I have a Pfaff Creative 1475 Thanks! Peggy
@MontavillaSewing2 ай бұрын
First, remove the needle plate and the bobbin case. That should give you access to the tangle. And to help keep tangles from happening, hold the thread tails at the beginning for the first couple of stitches. That way the top thread won't get pulled down into the bobbin area. And make sure your take-up lever is threaded.

The instructions in the manual for the S5 show that you should pull the threads to the back and tie them off. It doesn't say anything at all about the threads being tied off automatically as you state in your video. Can you double check and let us know what is the correct way? Thank you.
@MontavillaSewing2 ай бұрын
The automatic tie-off works, but I personally think that tying the thread tails by hand may be more secure.
