How to Tie a Kung Fu Sash

In this video we look at two ways of tying the kung fu sash. The first way is the most common, but if you find your sash to be too long after tying and too short if you wrap it around the body another time, then the second method is the best approach.

Interesting. I've seen several different ways to do this, varying in complexity and elaborateness (I've found in general that the more elaborate or difficult the sash knot is, the more pretentious or self-important the school tends to be). Your method is very similar to how we tie our sashes in my lineage. Simple, direct, no unnecessary frills or ornamentation. The only difference is that in Wing Chun we have the knot on the left side, not the right.

Im having a real tuff time picking my next sword from lk chen . Cant decide between silver swallow miao dao or paltial tang dao . I also want sno peak and the big tang dao but i think its between the first 2 . Any thoughts/ reccomendations ?

The Miao Dao is really fun to work with, it looks beautiful and it is lively and agile, although the Palatial Tang Dao has such authority in the cut and a very distinguished appearance... it's really hard to decide!

What if its too short ?

Most sashes are 8' - 10' long so if it is too short, then either wrap the body once (instead of twice), or it may be the wrong length to begin with and you'll have to buy a new sash.
