This video shows how I tie a UNI KNOT. I use this knot more than any other, on hook lengths, on leaders, to terminal gear. It gives a neat streamlined knot with a backward facing tag end so is perfect for when finesse is required. I also really like this knot because it doesn't tighten around the eye, it tightens around the line and slides to the eye. Avoiding damaging the line as the knot pulls tight.

Love the uni knot, pretty much all I use ,particularly on hooks,tag is brill. I've come a long way watching you since my 'half blood' for everything when I was a kid

Hello John. I love watching all your brilliant videos. I'm going camping and sea fishing up the west coast of Scotland in the summer. Could you please show me the best way to bait my 2 hook pennel pulley rigs which I bought for the first time. I've done sea fishing from the shore before but never used this rig. Hi John, do you ever user the FG knot, I have read that it needs to be spot on when tying otherwise its weak, I wondered what your thoughts on it.

Uni knot is the best in my view but i so wounder why they don't want to use it on heavy fishing line 500 -600 lb if you know the answer i will be so grateful waiting your answer
