Hay I'm 16 and I just started a landscaping business in Wisconsin. I got a gehl skid steer and this will be my 2nd year putting in new lawns. Is it true that if you don’t megalug every fitting and restrain every bell joint that you need thrust blocks? Looks good

If you don’t have some kind of restraint at bends there is a high possibility that the pipe will push apart. We do thrust blocks with mega lugs installed. Some jobs will require joint restraints up to 40” from each bend as well. I have seen pipe push apart and it is all bad.

Nice! I work for a Contractor in Georgia. Is wrapping the pipe after installation a requirement in that State?

State no. It is a county to county thing. But for the most part here (CA) we do it on all new installs. In some areas the require us to use mastic on the bolts to prevent rust/corrosion as well.

Hi Lever Monkey. Thanks for the content brother love your stuff. I have been asked this, thought I would check with you. Can you pull two big trench Boxes with an excavator? Im sure it has to be a bigger Hoe besides the Taco. Im guessing a bigger cat or Komastu 300 range? Do you have to take the top one off then pull the bottom one? I thought you would be the one to ask, Thanks lever Monkey keep them coming.

This is a loaded question. it really depends on the size of the trench box or man hole box. To answer your question yes you can pull two boxes stacked with a 35 ton rig or bigger. If the box is the thin wall 20' long. If you go to a longer box or the heaver bottom box it will have to be a 50 ton or bigger.
