Love those V buckets. It's a great way to keep the pipe layers safe.

Glad to see you're back. Great work as always. Can't believe how bad that machine beats on you. Seems like that 500 class by Kobelco is kind of a disappointment.
@TheLeverMonkey21 күн бұрын
Yea the KOBELCO rigs don’t rank very high on my list of rigs. I actually had this rig taken off a job and swapped for a John deer 450 with over 10k hours on it. And it out dug the 500. They are unstable machines. But that is what the company is buying. So I am stuck with them.

I was a pipe layer for 18 yrs, You're 💯% correct Lever Monkey about come out of a manhole wether it's sewer or storm. There were some times you get to your next manhole and you're a tad low,what I would do is go back ( of course if it was a open ditch) & adjust two sticks back so you have a more gentle grade transition. That V bucket is the Stuff.

I drank 4 Stanley cups one day and came home dehydrated. Next day put mineral salt into my cup, only drank 2 and was fully hydrated. Get your mineral salt. Water alone isn’t enough. Watermelon helps too.
@TURTLEORIGINAL27 күн бұрын
As an Army Combat Medic, my most common task as an Army medic, was starting intravenous fluids to soldiers that were heat causalities. Advice: especially to men and women that work construction type jobs or in an extremely hot environment; try to prime your body first thing in the morning, even before your dehydrating coffee. Drink down a liter of cool water or room temperature water. It’s good to have a packet of electrolytes stored in your pockets, this will keep water in you better, without a flushing out effect. Even if all you have is a salt packet and sugar packet. Oh, if your an alcohol drinker, and often, as hard as it may be, try drinking a liter of water after your last beer, glass of wine, or shot of whiskey. You’ll feel much better in the morning and less dehydrated. Hope this helps you.-Desert Storm Veteran

I like that your ground guys only give you what you need for guidance and nothing more, lol, I’ve had a few over the years that were over zealous to say the least:) I’ve only ever seen v-buckets on KZfaq, looks like it’s a bit faster then benching down, most of the deep stuff I did was in the street with double stacked boxes but I’ve done a few subdivisions where I’d cut 2 benches, one with my 66” “bailing” bucket and another with the 30” to make a safe hole on an 18’ or so cut, I miss doing deep pipe work, with a good crew on the same page there’s nothing better

We use Sitech lasers. Our lasers can do 8% witch we never really do. Most of the slops we do are like 0.24-0.38. Not my favorite laser to use, Iforget the name of the one I use to use that would go to 24%.
