The electrically driven hydraulic cabin tilt system on an Isuzu truck does require the truck to have a fully charged battery to operate. However, in the unlikely situation that the battery is flat, the vehicle does include provision for mechanics to manually operate the hydraulic cabin tilt system and we’ll explain how that works later in this article.
Therefore, before titling any truck cabin, it pays to perform a few safety checks and prepare the cabin thoroughly prior to commencing the raising process.
Preparation for tilting the cabin
• Make sure the truck is parked on a level surface.
• Check the that area above and in front of the cabin has sufficient clearance for the cabin to move through its arc while being raised.
• Close all doors.
• Switch off the engine.
• Make sure the park brake is applied.
• Make sure the transmission is in neutral.
• Confirm that people are not near the vehicle or inside the cab when tilting the cabin.
• Make sure that no loose objects will fall through the windscreen when the cab is tilted.
• Lower the bullbar, (if fitted).
You will need to unlock the cabin from the rear cab mounts before activating the lift pump. The cabin tilt locking levers are located at the rear on the left-hand side of the cabin. To unlock the cabin. First, pull the small safety release lever outwards then while still holding this lever, pull downwards on the main locking lever till rests on the bottom stopper to release the cabin lock.
