I finished some 8*10 inch black-heart sassafras blocks and transferred pictures of my nieces/nephews to them as Xmas pressies for the family a few years ago. Mod Podge worked really well, I should have spent more time clearing away the paper, but a half-finished job adds somewhat of a patina that worked. My 12yo daughter told me about it. Circle of life. Thanks for the video.

Good video. This technique on a wood project I was doing. I wanted to put a “brand” on the piece. The piece was stained by didn’t have polyurethane coating yet. I tried the heat transfer method that I saw on other videos but that didn’t produce good results. Mod Podge worked best, it gave the brightest transfer.

use polycrylic instead of mod podge. Put poly on wood, place picture on top of poly. shouldn't have to wait but 1.5-2 hours. use toothbrush and warm water to get paper off. Bam! done in half the time

I saw a video this morning that uses the backing sheet from mailing labels. (These were a sheet of two labels)The print is made on the shiny side of the backing. Next step is to apply the Modge Podge or whatever you use on the wood, (DON"T try to apply to the shiny side of the paper) Lay the printed side down just like your video shows. Make sure to squeegee all the bubbles out. Let it dry and lift the backing sheet off. No rubbing ad risking removing the toner.

Try water based polyurethane. It's thinner than Mod Podge or any gel based solution. It makes it easier to remove the paper and leaves a smoother finish.

@mururoa7024
@mururoa7024 Жыл бұрын
@@davidruiz5383 It's exactly the same method as shown in the video, but you soak the print in water based polyurethane instead of the product he's using. It's the same water based polyurethane you would use for the top coat on any project, so it's easier to get in most countries. After you rubbed off the paper (do not use sand paper!) and only the print's pigment remains, you can apply more polyurethane to finish the surface. Make sure you really rubbed off all the paper otherwise it'll be visible after everything dries.
