Wow, Kristen. Loved the video. Also love that my fav inspiration, Hey Nadine, (sorry Kristen lol) is in this video. I am definitely signing up for this course. I am trying to become a travel blogger with my dog. A focus of using traveling as a therapy to help deal with depression an PSTD. Im a veteran with PTSD so I want to help others

You really put an effort into creating an informational video. This is really helpful. We started one year ago, spontaneously. Beside some tight partnerships, we also have a revenue stream coming from coaching and deliver training, most of them online via webinars and skype. So much better compared to our former jobs in advertising and project management.

I'm planning on starting my channel the first of the year... My channel will be focused toward addiction recovery it's a field I'm VERY familiar with and trained in. Looking beautiful, ladies! Thank you for this very informational video! It is truly helpful. I see many people trying for a year or two and then giving up because it's a LOT of effort and it takes so much dedication and time to get somewhere. It took almost 2 years for our channel "Gab & Maya Backpacking" to get 1000 subscribers, but we are still going at it because we are SO passionate about making these travel videos. We've recently gotten one small sponsor which is so exciting!! I didn't know sponsors and affiliate marketing is such a huge part of a youtuber's revenue! Thought it was just the ads... well I will definitely keep that in mind ;-) Thanks again for the motivation girls. You're so inspiring. 💜🌈

Great info. here! Very honest question here - do you think there is an "age limit" for KZfaq creators? I know this seems like a silly question, but, it seems that the majority of very successful creators are in their 20's (I'm 35). I love making videos, but, have hit a rut for the past few months and don't know where to start again. Thinking of completely re branding my channel. Any advice?

Stephanie Carper I was wondering the same thing. I'm 30 and I just knew going in I'd only be able to "present" my face for another 10 years. I don't like it, but unfortunately I feel like this is the uncomfortable truth for us women. Bit honestly, just give it a go and see if you like it

KZfaq is the "entertainment business", just like television and modeling. Anyone who tells you that youth and good looks don't give you an automatic advantage is lying... However, there are certainly successful content makers from all demographics, I think you just have to find something that makes your videos stand out. Unique humor? Really detailed content? Razor sharp editing? Finding a niche (budget travel; solo travel; themed trips)?

Such a lovely video! Very encouraging. Question: How many subscribers, at least, make you look like a substantial business to brands? I have a HUGE portfolio at this point (well over 100 videos from a year and a half), a distinct style, and I really love what I do. But my channel is small (less than 400 subs). I feel like I have quality content, but is it enough if you don't have the numbers?

I think donations are really cheeky, am glad u don't do them as I won't subscribe or use the links on anyone that asks for donations. Its really cheeky why should someone else to pay to help someone travel instead of themselves

How do you feel about youtubers who use sponsors too much? I mean youtubers whose channels are basically one big commercial? I stopped subscribing one vlogger, because her channel is all about promoting veganism, but now she started to work with this sponsor\company that does animal testing, even though she's always been against it, but I think se wants the money anyway.

I think it's extremely important to only work with brands you truly love. I'd never jeopardize the trust of my audience to promote something I didn't believe in in order to make money. I've turned away opportunities that would have brought in 5 figures because it didn't align with Hopscotch the Globe. I also think it's important that if you are getting a lot of sponsored opportunities that align with your brand, to spread them out when it comes to posting. Also, integrating the brand into your video should be seamless. It shouldn't seem like an ad and if you are working with a brand that aligns perfectly with your brand, it will be seamless. That's really the key. Take my channel for example, I barely every get comments from people telling me that my sponsored video was too pitchy. It's not that I don't tell people it's sponsored because I do, but every brand I work with fits so well, it doesn't feel "off" and "preachy." I hope this answers your question :)
