Dark spots are a common complaint. Our skin is prone to develop dark spots due to high
melanin content in the skin.
Our skin is also prone to develop melasma colloquially called pigmentation and other dark
spots.
Different causes of dark spots
Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation PIH: can occur after any kind of injury to the skin.
Acne dark spots: a type of PIH that occurs after acne. Worsens when acne is scratched or long-standing. More prominent in individuals with dark skin type.
Tanning: occurs after sun exposure
Age-related changes: this includes sunspots and seborrheic keratosis which are flat and dark.
brown spots seen on the face.
Pigmentary demarcation line: dark patches seen on the sides of cheeks and corners of mouth.
More prominent after sun exposure.
How to Prevent: -
Use sunscreen regularly.
Limit sun exposure: avoid harsh midday sun between 11 am to 3 pm
Use a serum that has the correct blend of active to reduce melanin synthesis - : such as
biphasic serum from novology.

Hello, I wanted to ask you one question? I have seen you have made video , by mentioning Benzoyl peroxide will work on active acne and acne marks. But I wanted to share you my personal experience. I have applied pea size amount of benzoyl peroxide on my active acne. And I have kept it for overnight. I have used it for about 20 + days. And because of which my acne is reduced , but it has leave stubborn black marks. And now since December 2023- I am struggling to get rid of brown/black acne marks.
