I want to talk about a case that's very close to my heart. This is my patient Amanda and she presented to me with headaches, jaw aches and some postural problems which we can see. So she has some asymmetries front on just when she sits and we can see that she has one shoulder higher than the other. She also has a postural problem and these are basically, what are causing some of those head and neck aches that she's been getting. So her greatest concern was to be pain free, but she also wanted a beautiful smile. So when we take a look inside, we can see that how her teeth fit together, how they are aligned is basically what is causing these aches and pains that she's getting. So for her what we did was we performed near orthodontics. And what that involves is stabilizing the bite within your neuromuscular orthotic. Once that's achieved we can then make those changes permanent. And in her case, we use Damon Clear Braces over 18 months to do that. And this is the end result, you can see beautifully aligned teeth. Here in the upper jaw. there's a big difference in the width, we can see that that extra space that we've created has then allowed for us to straighten and align those teeth in both the top and the bottom arch. And here in the bite you can see that crossbite and just how jumbled her teeth were to begin with. This is essentially what was causing all of those aches and pains and misalignment in the way she carried herself. And here at the end, we have a beautifully set of aligned teeth. And in this next photo, we can see some of those improvements to her head posture and also to the asymmetries of her shoulders. And I'm happy to report we have a patient that's a pain free headache free. And I think she has an amazing smile.
