So glad to have found this video. My buff orpington has the sneezes and is all fluffed up. I think I heard my Colonel sneezing too. I used oregano in their water and ordered some VetRx too. I made some scrambled eggs with fresh garlic and oregano oil for my buff. Hopefully, they will be on the mend.

This helped a lot, I have just hatched some silkies, and I had one of my hens in a pen near the chicks, it was there first turn out, and I didn't know that my hen had a respiratory infection, and it got to my chicks, so this helped so much, thanks x

I have a 4 yr old hen who has gurgling sounds in her lungs. I know, not good! I am putting VetRX in her water, (thanks, I had no idea VetRX was a thing!) along with the 3 in 1 electrolytes. I brought her inside, she’s in a large dog kennel with hay. For 2 days now I’ve been making her scrambled eggs with coconut oil. Coconut oil is antiviral, antibacterial and ani everything! Lol I’ve also given her 1/2 c of cooked oatmeal with coconut oil added when cooking and a drop of VetRX, she’s been gobbling these up as soon as I walk away! She won’t eat while I watch her! 😆 I’ve had plenty of sick chickens but they went so fast, I never had time to act. This is the first time I’ve had one with a lung issue. So far she is holding her own, and just the fact that she is eating and drinking is a great sign! PS when I need to catch a chicken, I use a long handled large fish net!!

Also, to give orally a de worming product called flubenvet which seems to be helping to reduce the convulsions possibly associated with crawling internal worms like tapeworm. I give the powder onto pasta as a substrate. A commercial product called Verm X we are using, that’s a herbal remedy. I will try your sensible organic fire cider next year, if she lives. Sorry you lost a chicken. Also doing garlic and oregano. Well done for caring so much for birds and sharing advice with less knowledgable owners who need educating. My chicken is nearly 12 years old, mostly due to genetics, but her favourite food is sunflower seeds rich in vitamin B.

Wondering if my goslings had this. I have two gosling and three days after birth one of them was very weak, wheezing but not sneezing. I went up to Tractor Supply and bought Tylan, Vetrx, syringes and needles only to come home and she's dead. I'm dumbfounded by this.

I have a question my silky is about 11 almost 12 weeks old and she’s been breathing with her mouth open almost panting like a dog only when I’m holding her she extends her neck and starts doing that and has been honking recently in the last four or five days kind of like a goose or duck. I know this is an older video, but hopefully someone or you can help me answer this. Did the method you used in this video eventually help your chickens? I watched your Fire cider video and will make this tomorrow. I realize it’s 6 weeks in the making but want to get ahead of the season. Did the vetrx help your chickens? How often did you treat them like this? I have had a nightmare after getting ten chickens and already lost 4 of them due to respiratory issues. The other six are healthy but the three I replaced the others with are now sounding like they have croup 🤦🏻‍♀️ this is AFTER I already treated them with Tylosin. Long story short, I just wanted to know your method for healing your chickens with respiratory issues because it has been extremely stressful for me this year and I am desperately looking for answers. Debating about starting over with chicks from a completely different place. I’ve raised chickens several times before this flock but this is my first experience with respiratory issues. Just some extra info, I have some chimkens with similar comb issues and I suspect it's actually iron deficiency! They recently had mites and worms sucking their blood and this showed up afterwards, also with no coughs or sneezes but they sometimes seem extra out of breath or faint in the heat and on warm days they seem cold, which is when mine get a little bit of blue towards the tips of their combs (even though it's warm out), so thinking they're anemic! Giving them Rooster Booster at night (only fresh water or offering both side by side during the day since it's so hot during the day though)! I also read it might be e. Coli???? Not sure but I'm putting vetRX on their combs for mites anyways and maybe that'll help prevent e coli issues if that's what's going on??? Leaning more towards low oxygen/easily cold due to anemia though!

Dark comb is not just a respiratory or heart thing. Liver failure or toxicity, even anemia or malnutrition via parasites could show via darkened comb.

Onions can cause anemia which can lead to respiratory failure in excessive amounts same with garlic .

She needed real medical care. By the time wheezing starts its well underway. We need to do the best for them and have proper medications on hand for emergencies like advanced parasitic, fungal and bacterial infections.

Hello, great video very informative. I've had the chickens since the weekend and all was great until this morning when one of my Polish chickens was acting really strange. It was barely moving, and was moving its head up and down slowly and making this quiet opened mouth breathing noise. One of its eyes was glued shut and there appeared to be some foamy discharge. Its been really lethargic all day and has barely eaten or drank anything. From my limited knowledge and some reading this seems to match the symptoms of something called mycoplasma? I've separated her from the rest of the flock, as they all seem fine and I didn't want to risk and outbreak. But I have so may concerns now.. Firstly is this likely to be Mycoplasma If so, will the rest of them have it irrespective of symptoms? If thats the case, is there any point keeping her away.. Should I do the kind thing and put her down if she doesn't recover? If she does recover how long until I allow her back with the others? Sorry for all the questions, I am new to all this and I feel like I've been hit with something thats dampened the excitement of this new hobby I've undertaken. I was thinking it was just my luck that this would happen so soon after getting them, but apparently it not that uncommon? Anyways, any advice would really be appreciated as I'm very much a newbie to all this. Thanks in advance. Regards
