@@NeridaJoySkincare I have type 1 rosacea with alot of flushing...I find if i use a wash cloth to cleanse i develop an itchy rash for weeks after and my skin gets very inflamed and red,i think it must compromise my skins barrier....?

Devon Pfeifer the last one I went to she grabbed 6 products and said this is what you need today and when I relayed that I wasn’t prepared to spend $500 today she told me that I would undo all she did for my skin. I told her I already have an extensive skincare stock and would like 1 key item now and to let me know how to corporate what I already have and she literally told me that she can’t recommend anything that was outside of dermalogica’s line. I refused to go back.

angyeliz okay, yes... that is definitely not a way to sell to a client. Had it been me, I probably would have sold you a cleanser-the first step in any routine, and one that is so important to set you up for the rest of your products. I can understand the perspective of the esthetician you went to in not being able to recommend other items, if that is all she really knows and only works with. It can be really difficult to recommend outside our scope of what we know... however it does sound like perhaps you didn’t get education on why she used what she did, or recommends what she does, or perhaps why she doesn’t recommend some products you may be using at home, and that is not fair to you. I understand both perspectives, but perhaps the way she went about it was not very professional.... let me ask around and see if I can find someone on social media around the area, who I have connected with who might be in your area... you said Texas right? What area?

You have to hydrate your skin and keep it soft and supple. Use an exfoliant that is a cream to absorb the dry outer skin and help the acne clear up.....NON FOAMING CLEANSER TOO!

Dear Nerida, I have noticed that “thickening”’ of skin happens a lot with oily skin types. I would say large pores and thickening kind of almost always go together as one condition. It’s like you are trying to soften the skin but it’s so thickened and hard to the touch especially areas around the nose cheeks and forehead. And when oil production is tremendously decreased pore size is left the same and person is basically left with that “orange peel” skin. I always wonder what would cause that thickening?sun?pollution?or not proper home care routine?

Yes, you are correct. Thickening is mostly seen in an oily olive skin. But, you can change the thickening permanently as i do this all the time and you can shrink pore size too...permanently!! as long as the home care is with the correct product ingredients to support this:))

Any recommendations for hair growth in the chin and jaw area? They sometimes grow into ingrown hairs and leave scars when I pull them out. I recently did dermaplaning and it helped with exfoliating. You can see my skin condition in my KZfaq videos.

No, it doesn't. Its only a 25% and the lipocutical carrier is not irritating at all. Its all about the formula. Most barely even get red from the application. But it is all about the formula (brand):))

Mariam Renne milia is plural for milium cyst. There are harmless, benign little bumps that form under the skin, that look almost like whiteheads, but are completely light colored all over with no inflammation. They are essentially little balls of hardened keratin stuck under the skin. There is no known cause to them... the theories are that they could form because of something too moisturizing or nourishing-like eye creams or makeup/concealer, or that there is a lack of free water in the skin, so the oil and water balance is off... but there is no official cause. They can be anywhere, but are very common under the eyes or on the eyelids. I’ve seen them on the forehead, as well as the cheeks and jawline. You cannot squeeze them out because they aren’t not actually inside a pore, they are more in-between them, which is why your esthetician has to use a lancet, which is a small hospital-grade needle, to get them out.

Hi Nerida! I gave my client some samples of the healing gel and exfoliating mask. She has rosacea as well and is only exfoliating once a week. She said her skin has gotten more red after using it. What should I recommend for her to do? I still want her to exfoliate in her regimen but I guess she is just too sensitive?

Yes, the exfoliating mask is strong. Did she mix it with the healing gel and leave it on the skin just a minute? I often recommend the purifying mask as an exfoliant for sensitive skin. It just has the papaya enzyme without the glycolic unlike the exfoliating mask.

Hi Nerida! This was such a wonderful and helpful video to me. I live in Melbourne where the sun currently is really strong. I am having a hard time use any sunscreen(minerals and chemical) that work for me because they seem all clog my pores on my forehead. I don’t have acne at all and from all the video and information I have learnt from your video, I think I have surface dehydrated skin because when I stretch my skin even just a little bit, I can see the lines you were talking about in the video. And I also have clogged pores on my forehead and on my nose. I think because my skin surface is dry, the sebum can’t come up to the surface and real ease themselves easily because the surface is really dry. I have seen a very professional esthetician named Richie Angelo in Melbourne and she told me my skin is surface dehydrated thus when she tried to extract my pores, the harden bits were hard to come out. So my experience is very similar to this lady in your video I was wondering what kind of regimen I can follow to maintain a healthy clog pore free skin. And I have another question,sometimes when I am massaging my forehead I can get the harden bits to come out of the pores and the pores become emptied out just by my massage. But I always wonder if I should massage them out or should I let them be there and like wait for them to “fall off” like healed scabs? Hope you understand what I am trying to ask here. Thank you for reading my message! I would really appreciate it if I can hear your suggestion.

Massage is always great. First, you have to correct your surface dehydration...condition your skin and hydrate...don't over-nourish, just hydrate. Make sure your cleanser is a non foaming:))

Its either stress related or something he either applied, clothing/fabric/chemical he has had contact with that he is allergic to i would imagine. He needs a prescription to clear it up quickly so it doesn't get worse:))

My skin is surface dry but combination, and the oil gets hardened under my pores on my nose and chin. I bought the k cleanser and have glycolic and retinol products. Nothing seems to work. I love to hydrate my skin but it seems like nothing works to get my surface more hydrated. Any ideas? I’m an esthetician and feel like I do everything right and use great products! My skin seem to be surface dry and dehydrated and oily at the same time can you please suggest some good products to help hydrate the skin but won’t irritate it and cause irritation or break outs. Thank you. GOD BLESS.

Hi Nerida, Is vitamin A and retinol the same thing ? I’m confused by some of the labeling I see online and can’t tell if retinol include vitamin A or it is just Vitamin A. Thank you !

Yes, retinol is one molecule of the vitamin A grouping:)) there are others too
