Thank you for this video!!! so helpful! QUESTION: I had a client in my chair the other day and he had short hair on the sides, long on top, and had a surgical/hard part regrowth. The regrowth was shorter that the side, so ended up just cutting the hair to the length of the regrowth, but it looked kinda funny because now the short part went almost to the top of his head. Anyways, do you have any tips/recommendations for dealing with growing out the hard parts? Without making it look awkward? Hopefully this all makes sense! Keep the videos coming! :)

Great Video. I am one step away from mastering a self haircut but I have an M shaped hairline in back. I have been using comb attachments and flick out as I spoon hair. I notice the higher I go the m shape never disappears so at least I figured that out so far.

Good advice! Thought i beleive that using the razor to clean up hair below the neck line creates more density in the new hairs that are going to grow in that area. I prefer the trimmer but its up to each hairdresser. Thanks for the tips.

It is not bad at all! -Definite huge imptovement from the original... But it just has some space for further improvement: the edge could be balanced further by using a slim part of a flexible narrow comb and fine texturising scissors cutting at around 45 degrees into denser parts of the edge to reduce the "density darkness" and make the dark areas of the edge look a touch lighter thus more balanced with low density areas of the edge creating a softer uniformity of the neck edge design.

Everyone criticizing so harshly: a barber is different than a stylist. Different styles and expectations. Not everyone wants their neck tapered, and some prefer a softer more natural look. I think he did a good job for what the client seems to want. But also in saying that, although his hairline is a bit challenging, it is not by any means the most difficult that I've personally seen in my career as a stylist. I have clients that have full on CIRCLES in their neckline. His looks like a piece of cake compared to theirs, lol
