Do those light weight spoons really get bent up when you get a trout on them? I usually fish with michigan stinger, dreamweaver or moonshine spoons for great lakes trout
@Handberrydea
@Handberrydea 6 жыл бұрын
Musky Hans They usually hold up well, but it might be a different story on a monster laker though. That’s a nice selection of spoons that you use. I’ve heard good things about Michigan stingers for trout! Thanks for your informative comment!

The Sutton’s are pretty springy and go right back to shape. If I ever bend one it’s because of me not the fish and they go right back. I like the stingers and use them often. Moonshine and dream weaver are also very popular but I rarely pack them because I have others that work the same way. All undoubtably work and catch fish.

Passissmokes it’s hard to answer because the sizes I use vary day to day but I follow the idea of the thin flutter type for slow and the heavy copper for fast. I stick to some of the medium to larger sizes but my box ranges from #44s to #06s. Been using regular sized Michigan Stingers more often as I get a better range of speed

We have caught 20-30lb carp rowing and trolling Sutton spoons like that , down 40' over 100' deep open water . Also caught everything from Trout to bullheads, smallies and pickerel . I think the carp go predatorial in these big reservoirs where there isn't alot of shallow shore, grass or bottom feeding
@Handberrydea
@Handberrydea 5 жыл бұрын
Steve's Mixed Bag it’s funny that you said that because I agree 100 percent. My buddy and his brother just caught 2 20 pound carp in the housatonic river on a 4 inch superfluke. Both carp were hooked in the mouth. I think they can act more aggressive depending on the ecosystem beside they’re opportunistic. Thanks for watching bro. 👊🏾

Jonathan Lozier Jonathan Lozier hey I use an 8ft light action rod. Size 20 diawa saltist reels which rods 10 full colors of the 15lb leadcore. A larger diameter line might require a size 30 and if you’re running it on a larger boat you might want to up the rod to a medium/light.

Awesome vid, not sure if I understood it, but I'm new to reservoir brown trout fishing. I just started using led core, is there a video on rig set up? Also how much led core do you let out? I think I have the 5 color one.
@Handberrydea
@Handberrydea 5 жыл бұрын
Passissmokes The amount of led core that you use depends on the depth that your fishing. In this video we were fishing in about 20 ft and i think we were using 3 colors. I’m sure you can google a tutorial on a rig set up but you should checkout my buddy nat carnevalla ,(he’s the trolling expert) I’m more of a bass/fly fisherman.

Daniel Rosenthal i believe you. But With the trolling you can cover more water and it’s cheaper. To be honest I’m not a big fan of live bait or trolling. I just made this video to mix up the content. I rather fly fish for trout but I used to be a big bait fisherman and I know that produces size so I’m not judging. Thanks for watching dan. You local?
