Excellent repair video, Chris. Samsung dryer wouldn’t start. Followed your excellent instructions and replaced pulley assembly, belt and all 4 rollers. Pulley wheel had fallen apart. Glad you pointed out the roller issue. 3 out of 4 rollers had seized. Turns out, I WAS in for a treat! All is good now in my laundry room. Between you and Amazon Prime and $60, I was up and running again in two days and confident I can fix anything on my dryer.

Out of all the videos online, this one had the most minimal disassembly. Every other video i searched called for removing the control panel etc etc. Love the choppy audio. Overall i was able to complete this task with ONLY this Video THANKS CHRIS

It's not absolutely necessary to remove the rear bulkhead to get at the nuts securing the rear roller axles. I've gotten at these nuts behind the rear bulkhead with a regular wrench from the front in order to secure them while loosening the axles to remove them. It saves a lot of time. Excellent video Chris! Very informative!

@@chrisstokes2020 Yup, it takes a bit of angling of one's hand to hold that 40mm wrench on the rear nut securing the roller axle while loosening/tightening the 8/10mm squared roller axle head. It gets easier after a few times though. lol

Chris, your video save me $$$$ and my home. My dryer stopped working so I was going to see if the thermal fuse was blown. I followed your disassembly instructions and discovered 3 yrs of lint build-up (2-3 inches) because the exhaust pipe came loose from the fan manifold (known issue w/ Samsung dryers). It is a miracle the unit didn't catch fire. I cleaned everything up, t/s the fuse, thermostat and coil. All checked good and the unit runs great now. Previous OEM technicians didn't even open the assembly when we had problems before. Thank you for posting.

Nice job with this video Chris! I'm from the 'just take it apart and figure it out school', and this saved me a bunch of time! Much appreciated! Issue was the tensioner pully had seized. Really appreciate the tutorial; tried everything you described, inspected all components discussed, and replaced idler pulley assembly. Still have a humming sound and dryer won't spin (unless I turn it with my hand first). When I turn the drum, it spins, but then there is a burning odor so I stop it. I'm at a loss at this point, everything passes the visual inspection but I may be onto buying a new dryer at this point. Thanks again!

Usually, if you have to assist (turn with your hand) the dryer drum and you have tried everything else. This usually indicates an aging or defective motor issue (weak or burning). I would recommend testing the motor or replacing (based on age of dryer & cost). Hope that helps. Thanks Again & Be Blessed

$800.00 for a repair like this is VERY optimistic. More like $200.00 to $250.00 to replace a dryer kit consisting of a belt, idler pulley assembly, and front/back rollers. The profit margin will be in the neighborhood of $150.00 after the cost of the dryer kit is factored in. The market wouldn't bear charging $800.00 for a repair like this. Most would opt to just replace the dryer... Just saying...

My pulley had a spot worn almost clear through it. I cut a length of 2” pvc pipe the size of the pulley, heated up the pipe with a heat gun and press fit a new wear surface on it. Then I added a slight grove on the center by turning it against my bench grinder so that the belt won’t walk off of the pulley. Fired it up and it’s drying clothes while I am waiting for the parts to come.

Why remove the rear plastic triangle when replacing the roller axle? Was it put on just for shipping purposes to keep the roller on the axle? Just watched a couple of your videos last night. Hey Chris awesome video really appreciate the info. I have a Samsung Steam Dryer model # DV56H9000EP/A2 ok just so u know off hand I have tested everything inside and all tested with at least 1 ohms of resistance - motor, thermistor, thermostat 1, 2, 3, & bought a new thermal cutoff fuse cause the other one was testing low on ohms, heating element, door switch, light when doors open, and the moisture sensor, belt cutoff switch, What's going on is that when I plug the dryer in to 240v outlet n pick the dry cycle I want and press start the dryer makes a clicking noise then shuts off. I'm pretty sure it the control board but not sure and would like to test it any ideas? Thanks in advanced

I Changed out my thermal fuse, and my control panel, original problem, dryer would turn on and when I pressed start, it would just click. Also, wouldn't come on a couple of times, or the lights were real dim. I changed both out today, and my dryer won't power on, and the drum light is super dim.. Any ideas? Could it be my breaker? It doesn't trip.. But at a loss atm
@chrisstokes2020

It sounds like you have short circuit or an outlet issue (voltage). If the lights only dim when you try to start your dryer, it's most likely shorted some where ( check motor, harnesses, frayed or loose wiring harness, etc). Hope that helps.

@chrisstokes2020
@chrisstokes2020 2 жыл бұрын
It could be a few issues that will not allow it to start. I would recommend checking the simple steps: 1. voltage (110/120 safely with a voltmeter), 2. belt (this dryer has a safety switch) if it is broken it will not start, 3. Door switch. Anything beyond that you need to place in diagnostic mode to find the problem. Hope that helps.

Hello sir! I have a Samsung smart care dryer it had the filter icon light on and it stops on its own. We had this one man come check it out about 3 weeks ago and he cleaned it out removed some stuff put it back together and it started working again for like a week only it started doing the same thing but on top of that a weird noise. We had a lady come check it out again and she basically said that everything was fine nothing wrong with the inside at all she put it together again and once again turned it back on and it did the same thing where it turns back on then it’s stops it this time it was smelling like burned so she basically said it was the panel that it wasn’t safe anymore and that we needed a new one. Can you please help me as to what I can do.. I would greatly appreciate it if you get back with me.
@chrisstokes2020
@chrisstokes2020 4 жыл бұрын
This is usually caused by clogged/blocked vent. Disconnect the vent hose from the back of the dryer and clean the lint filter. Then run a test cycle, if the error returns, you will need to clean the vent that goes through your house. It is clogged and needs to cleared of lint. If that doesn't fix it, you need to replace your thermistor sensor. It thinks that the air isn't flowing correctly. The noise is mechanical, it could be a idler pulley, tub rollers, etc. Hope that helps.

@chrisstokes2020

It sounds like you installed the idler pulley incorrectly. You must ensure that the idler are is under the belt switch or that the belt switch is not defective (if necessary check belt switch for ohms of resistance). Hope that helps. Thanks
