Side note: In the tutorial here, it says to bring up a loop in the 1st back bump from your hook and that is correct. But in the Seaside Shawl pattern, because of the increase you are making at the beginning, you'll bring up a loop in the 2nd back bump from your hook.

Ha! I knew it wasn't new when I stumbled across it messing around with yarn! I find it makes a fantastic dish scrubbie especially if done in a corner to corner variant, using some lighter than worsted weight and a 9mm hook, it comes out rather mesh-like with one side having lots of dimples to grab things and the other looks like perling

Found your short “mistake” clip on Pinterest and looked you up! This video is so much clearer and easier to see what you’re doing. Though I could have done without the blast of music lol Your voice is quite quiet, so when the music started it’s much louder and a bit of a shock 😅 You have a new sub 👍🏻

what size needles did u use ? I want to make a blanket but confused how many chains and hook ..4 ply red heart yarn how mny would i need for a lap blanket or throw

The seaside shawl in this stitch uses a 6mm. Picking up the back bump in smaller sizes is extra challenging. For Tunisian lapgans, my favorite hook is a 7mm. If a tight fabric is desired, stick with a 6 or 6.5mm hook. For the lapgan width, I use a 36 inch interchangeable cord with hooks on both ends of the cord. (One end hook with a cap o. The opposite end is fine too.). Swatch your yarn, hook, and stitch to determine how many stitches you will want cast on to make your desired lapgan width when considering what size person will be using it and if it will be easy enough to move around when it is complete.

I was looking forward to more patterns, but the music is very off putting. ! It's too loud coming directly into my hearing aids. Repetitive like kids games.
