I loved that leafy paper you glued in and was sayin Noooo! when you covered it over with a blah note sheet 😂 A tip in would've worked, too, but it's your vision. I enjoyed your tips very much, def going to try some pages from baking parchment.TFS!

Your stenciling on parchment paper is wonderful. Appreciate your time. Now please take this next comment with the grace in which it is given. Your title was turning baking paper into pretty pages etc. As an artist, my time is limited, when I have to skip 3/4 way into a video to achieve learning about what the title was about. that is a little aggravating. Otherwise, when you taught what your title described - GOOD job. Beautiful. thank you. Given with love, so please take it that way :)

Ha, ha. I agree to an extent. But I like it when I'm shown what the end result will look like! It's a good thing you can skip forward in the video and/ or play it at a higher speed. To help others I like to put a timestamp in my comment. Like: The real magic starts at 5:50 😄🪄

Yes! I largely agree with this! I prefer to have the necessary information given up front. Being a single mother, to say my time was limited is beyond an understatement. You'd think now that I'm no longer single nor a mother that I'd have ample time but somehow I have less. And much less sleep- oh the irony! Anyway, much like Irish K- I, too, do not wish to be rude & very much appreciate the time that you took to give us this information. Having said that I will throw in what it is I find necessary for a like, a subscribe, or share. I seldom do any of those things because for the longest time i shared an acct with someone else & didn't want the flood of notifications. Drives me nuts. And the way the likes end up in the library lists & effect the suggested viewing, ect... Also, like the others, I kinda want to see the finished product for a second before i go on to watch the entire tutorial just in the interest of time. Otherwise I've wasted a night researching for a list of things i want to spend a few days doing. I started tonight, for example before midnight. It's almost 5am. Still on my device. If I find a video (even if I'm not planning on using the information right away) that meets the 3 things i love best- Quick view and summary of the finished item (preferably the time it takes to make it & supply list) & either let us know what you're doing and when you get to the tutorial in the bi-line. Be upfront with the info. That's it. I'll even pass them on. But if i have to search or wait or it's misleading then I don't usually use them. I save them up so I don't waste a night like i did this one. And those are the videos my gf's & I share the most. And I'm more like to wade thru all the other videos that someone does too

Baking paper is the non stick paper you use in the kitchen. Parchment paper is very similar only a little thicker but works just as well.

Hello, that was very interesting. What type of colours did you use? Watercolours, acrilics? Thanx
@theartsiecrafter
@theartsiecrafter Жыл бұрын
Thanks for asking. I used watercolours. Using a makeup brush and keeping the paint fairly dry helps to avoid the wet paint from seeping through under the stencils.

I've just learned that baking paper is called parchment paper, in the US. Here in Australia, parchment paper is a little thicker and used in stationery. Tracing paper is also similar. They can all be used to achieve the same result. I hope that helps.

Have you tried using a glue stick - it's a relatively dry glue that usually doesn't warp the paper.
@karinberonius8799
@karinberonius8799 Жыл бұрын
I can tell you that a regular gluestick works. I buy the cheapest gluestick I can find. I use baking paper to protect the surface when I glue paper onto cardstock with a gluestick. If I don't remove the baking paper before the glue is completely dry, it gets stuck, too.😂 I think the gluestick will work just fine as long as you glue the baking paper onto a porus surface.

You're correct I did use watercolours, making sure not to add too much water to avoid the wet paint seeping through behind the stencil.
