Fifteen minutes into watching this my 3 year old declared, "not this, I want paw patrol!" which was the moment I realised we were actually watching it together and he'd been absolutely glued to it since the start. That's the first time he's ever watched something of mine for more than thirty seconds without demanding a cartoon. I think the close up shots of applying glue, sand a paint really appealed to him. 😉

I did a chariot racing track using wedding cake columns and used a stone finish spray paint. Now I have more techniques to try. Thanks for the tutorial! I do want to make mine a bit more portable though.

Brilliant. Lovely piece of work. I would suggest a dremel with cutting discs for that plastic. Mask and glasses essential. Some bits might end up looking a bit melted if dremel is on high speed. Than be cut off or left. After all I’m sure some fireballs can melt stone! Again, brilliant work.

This looks great! I would definitely suggest adding paint to your mod podge if only for the reason you wanted to paint over it before hitting it with a spray can: The mod podge seals it for painting. But if you miss a spot, the paint propellant can and likely will melt it as you said. The black paint in the mod podge often still comes out looking kind of gray and doesn't really cover the foam. That's fine though, you can see if it has covered (and sealed) the foam so you can spray it safely.

It came out looking awesome! But I do have a recommendation for your sanity if you ever want to pinwash so much at once again. You can spray the thinner oil wash with your airbrush then use a big sponge soaked in mineral spirits to wipe it away from the raised surfaces. It goes a lot faster though you will have less fine control.

Such a cool idea! However I don't damaging toys like that, but other than that part I like the rest of it. As a diorama or a wargaming board this is awesome work! I kind of want to get one of the Playmobile coliseums for myself. Seems like a fun toy on it's own too.

Looks great! One thing to mention, gold does not get verdigris, only copper and alloys of copper. I’ve found that you can get good results simulating verdigris by painting in a dark green, dabbing in a few patches of lighter green, then heavily dry brushing the entire thing in dark brown/bronze. The verdigris ends up less shiny than it can with inks.

This is awesome. I absolutely love kids toys turned into terrain. I think it's my favourite niche, subsection-y part of terrain making. And this is a fantastic example of that. Just a great job! 👏
