How to TURN OFF ASUS Motherboard RGB Lights | ASUS ROG STRIX B450-F | Shutdown Mode | Sleep Mode

I will guide you on how to turn off your ASUS Motherboard's RGB Lights.

In this tutorial, I'm going to use my ASUS ROG STRIX B450-F Gaming Motherboard.
Just for clarification purposes, your ASUS motherboard's rgb lights will be TURNED OFF when you completely SHUTDOWN your gaming pc OR when you put it to SLEEP MODE.
However, your ASUS motherboard's rgb lights will remain ON when you're using your gaming pc.
With that being said, let's go to the BIOS. Restart your gaming pc and as soon as you see the Republic of Gamers Logo, PRESS F2 or DEL(DELETE) multiple times to ACCESS the BIOS.
From the BIOS main screen
Step 1) Go to Advanced Section
Step 2) Choose APM Configuration
Step 3) In ErP Ready, change the default value from Disabled to Enable(S4 + S5)
Step 4) Go back to Advanced Section mainpage
Step 5) Choose Onboard Devices Configuration
Step 6) Look for "RGB LED lightning"
Step 7) In "When system is in working state", change the default value from OFF to ON
Step 8) Go to Exit
Step 9) Choose Save Changes & Reset
Step 10) Click OK and let your gaming pc reboot
NOTE: Please follow the exact steps correctly to get the desired results. DO NOT swap Step 2 with Step 5 or you'll have issues.

What does the ErP Ready do? Why did you enable it? In my case setting the other options to off was enough (I wanted my Mainboard RGB always off).

I skipped the ErP Ready step and went straight to RGB step. It still worked. Why you need to do the ErP Ready step btw?

I think that it allows the pc to turn of the RGB for things that are connected through usb! My pc has RGB speakers connected too it so when I change the erp thing it shuts off the speakers when the pc is shut off

Anyways to help figure out how to turn it ON? Example, after setting up Armour crate, my rgb doesn't turn on until I get to windows now, it doesn't turn on on power button. (Obviously want it to turn on then change when windows boots)

I figured out how to turn the lights off when I power down (through Armoury Crate), but every time I start up, it jumps to Rainbow puke, until it gets to the login screen, then it switches over to my color choices. I want to stop the Rainbow. Do you know how?

There's a tool called Asus armoury crate if you have an Asus suitable board. Otherwise look on your motherboard website

Wow. Thanks. Amazing video. However, I still cannot change RGB colors to full red on my 3700x's Wraith Prism stock cooler. I have downloaded the program from Cooler Master (Armoury Crate) and I still cannot put all colors to red to match my full build. Any advice on that?

This works for me once, but the moment I boot my PC again from shutdown and then shut down again it resets the setting and leaves the RGB on again after power off

Ok can confirm. You have to use Armoury crate. Within Armoury crate, go to device, shutdown effect, off. Boom, that simple. I was going crazy trying to tweak various motherboard settings, and this original video would work once then it reverts.

I had the sams issue. I set „ErP Ready“ back to Disabled, then the setting you asked for appeared. I set it to off and it worked :)

All RGB lights should be off including your motherboard, gpu, ram, etc because it cuts off some power to your pc during Sleep, Hibernate and Shutdown Mode. Please follow the exact steps correctly to get the desired results. DO NOT swap Step 2 with Step 5 or you'll have issues. See video description for more info.

@@boysietupaz5274 you’re wrong. ram sticks will stay on no matter what you do in the bios. During sleep mode everything is loaded to Ram so they are always powered up. You have to ise Hibernate as this will turn them off since it uses Disk memory or just power down the whole system.

Depends on what parts you have for example , asus you need to download the asus software , corsair you need corsair software , search them on google it will give you the link .
