How to TURN OFF ASUS Motherboard RGB Lights | ASUS ROG Strix X570-E | Sleep Mode | Shutdown Mode

I will guide you on how to turn off your ASUS Motherboard's RGB Lights.

In this tutorial, I'm going to use my ASUS ROG Strix X570-E Gaming Motherboard.
Just for clarification purposes, your ASUS motherboard's rgb lights will be TURNED OFF when you put your gaming to SLEEP MODE or when you SHUT it DOWN. While you're gaming, your Asus Motherboard's RGB Lights will remain on.
With that being said, let's go to the BIOS. Restart your gaming pc and as soon as you see the Republic of Gamers Logo, PRESS F2 or DEL(DELETE) multiple times to ACCESS the BIOS.
From the BIOS main screen
Step 1) Go to Advanced Section
Step 2) Choose APM Configuration
Step 3) In ErP Ready, change the default value from Disabled to Enable(S4 + S5)
Step 4) Go back to Advanced Section mainpage
Step 5) Choose Onboard Devices Configuration
Step 6) Look for "LED lightning"
Step 7) In "When system is in working state", leave the default value to All On
Step 7) In "Q-Code LED Function", leave the default value to POST Code Only
Step 7) In "When system is in sleep, hibernate or soft off states", leave the default value to Stealth Mode
Step 8) Go to Exit
Step 9) Choose Save Changes & Reset
Step 10) Click OK and let your gaming pc reboot
NOTE: Please follow the exact steps correctly to get the desired results. DO NOT swap Step 2 with Step 5 or you'll have issues.

This may help. Go into Armoury Crate and click the keyboard and mouse icon on the left side. Click on your motherboard from the pop up. Under the Shutdown Effect menu click OFF. What is described in the video works but what I found is that when I turned on my computer, everything plugged into the USB ports turned on, even things that I don't want to turn on by themselves. So I found this solution, by accident, and undid what is said in the video.

When I do the shutdown effect OFF in armoury crate, it works for all devices other than my LC 360 RGB CPU water block... so frustrating.

@Bry Zeer don't need to be rude. It's not his fault. Asus has changed the Armoury Crate behavior since the vide was published, and now every time you run the software it will bypass and change the bios settings. If you don't have Asus software installed, the video will work just fine; if you have, will will need to change the shutdown settings like @kelley K said. Regards.

Enabling the power saving option in the BIOS is the only thing that has helped. Unfortunately, it adds about 10 seconds to my startup time. Still worth it over having bright lights in my bedroom, but I just wish Asus's software wasn't so broken.

DON'T DO THIS ON A STRIX B550-E!! PC refused to boot after I changed the bios-settings. Had to flash the bios to get it to boot again. I was able to turn off all lights by changing to "aura off", don't know what the "s4+s5" thing is supposed to do but for me it just caused some error while booting.

Mine turns off after the first shut down. But reverts back to its on state when I’m shut completely down. I’m so lost.

Or you can just press F4 (or click on the top right of the screen to "AURA ON/OFF") and choose settings for LED lighting there.

Thanks for the video, I wanted to know if this motherboard is worth it over the B550-E, The main reason I wanna get this board is for the USB ports, I have a Oculus Rift CV1 that requires 4 3.0 ports and I hope this board will work well. Have you had any troubles and can u give me any advice or tips? Thank you

The X570-E is a must for me because I need that dual PCIe Gen 4 M.2 SSDs for ultra fast video editing/storage. Since you require 4 3.0 USB ports, the X570-E has 4 of them at the back and 2 at mid-board. Whereas, the B550-E has only 3 (back) and 2 (front). If you can get your hands on X570-E, go for it but be prepared to pay a bit more. So far I don't have any issues with this motherboard.

I have the same mother board. Is there a way to power down usb devices when pc is powered down? I can’t seem to turn off my usb devices when I power down my pc. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Is it possible to turn off only the motherboard lights when the pc is turned on, I don't like the rog logo light on my motherboard but I want to leave the other devices lights on, like fans, gpu, aio, ram, etc

PSA: Do this AND in ArmoryCrate / Aura controller: Device tab on the left > Motherboard > shutdown effect > OFF

Can someone one please tell me how to permanently switch off all the RGB on my Rog Strix X399-E Gaming Motherboard everything is switched off by ICue but the M.2 is still lit and I cannot switch it off. Armoury Crate always gives me error No devices available I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Armoury Crate still the same issue

Sadly there is no more the ''ErP Ready'' option in ''Apm Configuration'' - Bios Version 3602 . I would love to turn Aura off completely .

In the BIOS/UEFI, at the top right corner, there is an "Aura" option, select "Stealth" and all lights should turn off after you save and exit

Hi, My issue is the opposite of what you just described. How does one TURN ON the RGB lighting on the motherboard. It seems to be turned off on the Shroud (ROG Logo) and nearby zones. It's off all the time. I'd like to turn it on.

Hey not sure if you can help me. My mobo light was working up until I changed my hard drive out for an ssd. Now the mobo no longer has its rgb but everything else works fine. Not sure what happened but any help would be great.

I am not sure what are you asking, but if you refer that your mobile phone light is not working I think that you should change the option that says (USB power delivery in Soft Off State (S5) in Advanced\Onboard Devices Configuration). BUT I REPEAT THAY I AM NOT SURE WHAT ARE YOU ASKING AND DO NOT CHANGE THAT UNLESS YOU ARE COMPLETELY SURE. I am not shouting hahaha. Only I want to help you if you see that your mobile phone light (the light that says you that the phone is charging) does not work. I would recommend you that you open a ticket to ASUS anyway. @@raulflyeryt9856 I appreciate it. Ill try and clarify. My mother board has a rgb republic of gamers LED on the top left. It was working fine, and when I switched cases it sopped completely. I've checked the wiring and I dont think its anything on that end. I was just wondering is there any fix for this.

It works for shutdown, while for sleep mode, after a reboot, the PC itself switches back the option from "Stealth mode" to "Aura only" again. That's weird.

@@Zeitka_ Yeah, I uninstalled Armoury Crate. Some lights are still active during sleep mode, but I think it's the RAM and I don't know if it can be disabled, but I haven't tried yet, honestly, also because I don't know where those few lights come from. Anyway, it's much better than before.

Yes it can but I suggest that you double check the X570-E QVL for compatibility.

I enabled s4+s5 + stealthmode but when i turn my pc off, the RGB lights of the x570e keep glowing. If i enable the correct settings (stealth mode) it changes back to (aura only) the next time i turn my pc on. Any help? Added: do the bios settings interfere with software like icue? (which i have)

@@MrLuccasMF @Hellman mogollon - anyone figure this out? I can't turn off that damn annoying RGB light behind the motherboard, everything else (all the other RGB) works properly, but the AURA bios settings keep reverting to defaults. Something to do with the ASUS Armoury Crate software perhaps?

@@MrLuccasMF when you put the pc on sleep mode the ram needs to stay on so when you click your mouse again windows is already loaded up. That's why the ram stays turned on.
