This should be the only suspension how-to on KZfaq. Clear, concise and not over complicated from a guy that actually knows how to rip. Good work as always!

I totally agree. I've watch hundreds of suspension settings and each time I get more confuse. The 3 different settings that April demo really helps to paint a clearer picture.

I'd say i really like the perspective of many, and many have things to contribute. But this one is the best so far. There are a couple of quick setups that show a simplified way to quickly setup your shock, and just following that is not complete, but it enables people who wouldn't do any setup, to at least get it close to performing. So i like that one video for that too. And if the other vids didn't exist, Kyle and April's video might not be as good as it is.

I agree 1000%! Lye & Aprils are usually THE best. And that’s high praise coming from me, Mr KZfaq Critic. I call this phenomena of everyone redoing and rehashing and copy-catting everyone’s video #MetooMTB. I should start my own parity channel…🤔☝️😃 Great job as always K&A!👌

There's nothing worse than paying good money for equipment, providing decent adjustment options to taylor your needs, but then not making use of them ; i.e. running a bad setup and have your rig perform like crap! One might as well opt to run much cheaper pieces of suspension in the first place and save an awful lot of bucks if performance ends up being the same. Thx for your much appreciated efforts to educate novice riders!

Can't WAIT for the detailed 'how to set up' in the parking lot! Of course... that rebound and compression is ALL feel, right? Hope I can find a shop to HOOK a brother up soon! With experience on a sportbike, I know when I get it dialed, it's gonna feel GREAT! Thank you both for the hours you're dedicating to this! :-) Really appreciative of the clear technical descriptions! :-)

I agree with all the positive comments. As a brand new mountain bike rider with < 1 month experience, the learning curve is intense. Your videos are 100% understandable and oh-so-helpful. Bike manufacturers should include a DVD with your videos with every new bike purchase. Some people don’t own DVD players anymore but many of us still do. Premium brands like Niner should hire Kyle and April to make a video for each bike model’s basic tune, then throw your skills workshop videos on the DVD for the other chapters. Customers will love it and the bikes will perform better and safer on average. It’s probably not going to happen, but we can dream. Thanks a million!

@@XqDezzy10 not in my limited experience! I’m not sure if 160mm travel makes a difference or not but I haven’t bottomed out. Definitely helps with the fast/rough patches with the rebound set right.

Hey Andrea, if measured in your descending position I find that 30% is a really good setup but if measured seated it’s a little too soft for most people. If we have dive at all then we will just add some low speed compression

I do not feel it enough when I make changes. If you guys continue to make instructive video like this, as a beginner, I'd like to learn more about the PSI in my tires, better use of my dropper, when to set my suspension to hard.- medium or low. tks guys for trying to make our life easier! :) Cheers!

damn man.... FINALLY a real good video on yt about setting suspension!!!! Nice work...really. In particular, things like show us HOW a bad settings work (every other video talk about how a good setting work) and WHY it's good to have one setting beside other... and again, you don't only focus on top fork or shocks that have low/high speed comp click , but you talk for other folks like me, that have a fork with only rebound and grip damper open/close (like fox rhythm) . Super video.... looking for part two, with things like volume spacers and other. Keep it up :)

Finding a “teacher” that you get how they teach is critical to really learning something efficiently. For me, how Kyle teaches is ideal. I think that’s a innate ability, part of someone’s personality…who they are and not necessarily taught. I think more people need to be exposed to these types of teachers and instructors. It’s really cool to be able to find this type of content on KZfaq. I hope the Myocarditis fades away and does it quickly. Love these videos. Can’t wait to see what’s next. I spied Kyle & April on video at Berm Peak opening day. I got my fingers crossed for a video drop soon. 🤞🏼🙏🤘🏻

It is the first video I've ever seen that connects it all very well together. Including practical examples of how things work in real life. Given that, it's not long at all. Thank you.

This is definitely one of the best breakdowns/explanations of suspension I've seen. Even people who know suspension well usually go through it too quickly/vague or go overboard with the info (both of which make it hard to grasp). I know people say it a lot, but you really have a way with teaching and breaking things down into easily consumable pieces. Thank you both for the great content, cheers!

The greatest video on suspension!! Kyle you’re a genius. How to explain so much, in laymen terms. I actually understood how to go and set up my Giant Trance that I’ve had for a year now. Wish I could meet y’all. I’ll be in Boise tomorrow and Thursday working. I know you’re dealing with the myocarditis issues. But if there is a chance let me know.
