Pre-requisites:
• Make sure ADB and Fastboot drivers are installed on your PC.
• Enable Developer Options by going to Settings - About Phone and tapping on build number multiple times.
• Enable USB Debugging in Settings - Developer Options. Make sure that the USB Debugging is checked.
• Go to Settings - Developer Options and enable ‘OEM Unlocking’.
• Charge your handset up to 70% or more to avoid unnecessary power-off during the unlocking process which might brick your device.
• Make sure Huawei HiSuite is installed on your PC.
• Backup all your important data by downloading third-party backup app from Google Play Store.
Install Huawei USB Drivers on your PC.

Pro tip: never buy phones from manufacturers that lock their bootloaders and make you pay for the unlocking code! Or stop giving out codes. This was my last Huawei phone ever🤣👍

For unlocking huawei's bootloader it is required: A PC with an app called minimal adb & fastboot and a usb cable. If you have important data stored on your huawei phone, back up now. First of all, go to settings then system & updates then about phone and tap bulid number 7 times. Second of all go back to main page & then go to developer options. Scroll down until you see OEM Unlocking Option. Click it and then enable. Also, scroll down until you see USB debugging & Allow ADB debugging in charge only mode. First enable USB debugging & also Allow ADB debugging in charge only mode. Then connect your huawei phone to the PC. Open Minimal ADB & Fastboot. Type in the command "adb reboot bootloader". Then phone will automatically boot into Fastboot & Rescue mode. Type the second command "fastboot flashing unlock" and hit enter. Then the phone will ask "Would you really like to unlock bootloader?" Navigate by using volume up & volume down buttons and press power button to select. Navigate when the red text "Yes" pops up. Hit the power button and you have unlocked the huawei bootloader and phone will automatically reboot. Then you will have to go through the android setup and your phone will be ready and also your phone now has unlocked bootloader. FOR THIS PROCESS, DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK! THERE'S ALWAYS A HIGH RISK/CHANCE OF BRICKING YOUR HUAWEI PHONE! If your phone crashes or automatically powers off, your phone may not work again. I'm not responsible for any damage that happens to your huawei phone.

I have been looking for a long time to see if there was a way to install a custom rom on my huawei p10 plus. I'm wondering if anybody had tried this on a phone like mine. I have never isntalled any sort of custom rom before but I am up for the challenge as long as my phone will work well afterwards. What do I do after I root my phone? I have checked for custom roms for my specific device but there does not seem to be any availabe. Are cucstom roms universal? if any one can help me it would be much appreciated. thanks for reading

Well, you can flash "GSI" - Generic System Image since there is no developer interested in creating a custom OS for Huawei devices. There will be bugs after flashing GSI like WiFi issue or Bluetooth or speaker issue but overall it will work. Carefully choose a GSI for your device based on architecture and system partition.
