Just a question I've gotten to the waiting part now, can I take out my sim card and put it back into my other phone, can I turn off my computer, can I unplug the USB C cable from my phone, and should I leave the phone in fastboot mode?

Aug 11, 2021 - if you go into the device properties in device manager, you can look for a driver on the Microsoft site. It will open up Settings > Update & Security. Then click on "Check for updates" button. Then choose "Optional Updates" and "Driver updates (or Additional drivers)" - not 100% sure what was there. Then a Google Android platform driver shows up. When you choose it, the system will download and install it. Now go back to the Xiaomi unlock tool screen and you will see your F3 in the device list. I hope this helps someone.

Thanks for the video. One suggestion though. To save others time you should only include solutions that actually work rather than trial and error. This could easily have been a 2 minutes video.

Correct, but i find that showing the errors, helps people know 1- This isnt always straight forward 2- everyone can have issues 3- How i overcome the issues and my real time though process while doing it, which will hopefully help people and save them needing to comment, saying they got stuck at "X" thing

Just a quick question, once I get to the waiting part, am I able to shut down my laptop, unplug my phone and start using my phone again? Or do I have to leave my phone in fastboot mode for a week?

Once it starts having the count down you are fine to disconnect the phone and simply use it Pc can be shutdown

@@rickstechrepairs After a week, I decided to try and it wouldn't connect at all... I had to apply for the unlock thing again and this time It won't show up on the Mi Unlock Tool. The drivers that you put in the links don't download anymore. Can you help me out?

Thanks for the video. Nice walkthrough. Fyi, the driver install in the version of the Unlock Tool I used (6.5.406.31) was named *"MiUsbDriver.exe"* and it's right after the "miflash_unlock.exe" file in the top folder.

Another question, I updated my POCO F3 when it wasn't bootloaded yet. Does that somehow mess with the unlock?

i think it shouldnt reset the time, it should recognize that it has already been started

Just one question: why 168 hours? I unlocked other phones in the past, and unlocking it will wipe the memory. In this case the memory will be wiped when you effectively unlock it one week later or it will be when you first connect it? I hope one week later, I want to unlock mine but it is my daily driver and I don't want to have a phone wiped before the unlocking and making backups over backups 😂 Btw thanks for the guide, really clever

Note: The older version of MiUnlock is not working right now. 1. Install Qualcomm USB Drivers, and ADB setup 2. Download and use the latest MiUnlock Tool 3. Unlock!

The driver install fixed it through device manager. Then it said "couldn't unloick". Xiaomi makes bad phones.

I was wondering if it was possible to sign your mi account to mi unlock status and unlock the bootloader without mobile data, because my mum does not want to buy me the cheapest data plan, because i live in Czech republic and mobile data are way more expensive here, than in other countries so if There is any way to registr mi unlock with WiFi, then i Would be happy

Yes after the 168 hours , once you reconnect the phone to the pc to unlock it will wipe all the data
