I just want to let you know that you did an excellent description and instructions on how to update the dash cam with firmware outstanding

I had no idea there was any firmware to update. I've had my camera since 2018 and just came across the info by accident while looking for something in the manual. Your video was just what I needed and was able to update to V42 on the first try. Thank you so much.

Thanks a lot for this video! I tried to copy BIN files in the folder that opens when you connect your dash cam to the computer and that doesn't work at all. But when I opened this PC file and moved downloaded files directly to the dash cam memory card it worked flawlessly!

VanTrue needs to start making their products user-friendly.

2022: FOR PEOPLE THAT LOST THEIR DATA CABLE, you can just stick the memory card directly to your PC instead of taking out the whole dashcam or looking for that darn cable. same process like she did, just copy under DCIM. Also, the new update turns your camera to Japanese after the update. Just rewatch 7:12 and you'll get to language and switch language there. Good luck!

Im not sure if you would read this 3 yrs later but as of 5/14/22 I cant upload the firmware it seem’s corrupted . I tried on (2) computers . My GPS doesnt work that I purchased separate , not tracking my speed either .

Mine resets the time when i swtich from charger to computer and i need to set time and date again every time I move the camera. Do you know how to fix it?

Do you have a suggestion where I can download the PC software for Vantrue N2 Pro True Dash cam? The software I’m talking about is the one where you can see the map and all the data as the video plays. I have the GPS mount as well so that I can have the speed and all the other information in the map. Thank you

Charging for two hours? This device has a super capacitor, not a battery. If you unplug it from the power source, the capacitor will power it for about 2 seconds. And you don't need 2 hours to get that... Upgrading is easy - just follow the directions provided with the two firmware files.

Surprise, this camera doesn't have a battery, so charging it for hours was pointless. I didn't know this either and always wondered why it was dead or had very short on time when it wasn't plugged in... it has a Capacitor instead of a battery, safer for heat reasons like if it's exposed to the Arizona sun while the cars is off, it won't explode while the car isnt in use.

Doesnt work on macbook pro ?

Plugging in the camera to my computer, it doesn't popup saying mass storage or power on. it continues to record. i've waited for 5+ minutes and nothing still.

what d o you mean "don't forget to delete the firmware from your SD card"? Why didn't you show this too?

I notice you have a blue flashing light on the "!" button. mine doesn't do that.

Tried to do this and it would not work for me. Current version is 26, trying to go to 35 (new camera). Tried it with a 256 gb card, and a 32 gb card, and it did not work for either card. The downloaded version is not a .bin name, so I renamed the file to add the .bin and it still did not work (tried the downloaded name first.....a95lyd).

I went on their website to update my firmware and they are showing that it is a 2 part down load is that right Lily?

What application do we save the .bin update as? Mine keeps defaulting to Firefox. What application is that file?

I did this and nothing updated, it should be V30 now but stuck on V21

I bought a new Ventrue N2 Pro last week and followed instructions on how to download and install the latest firmware. But I think I made a mistake by grabbing 2 separate downloads - both A95LYD but on has a (1) in the title as there were 2 separate updates - parts I and II. Now I can’t get the dash cam to enter into any of the settings - just the screen view comes on and I can’t push any buttons to change any setting. What the heck did I do wrong? I’m trying to get the serial number to submit my registration. What is the firmware file update(s) I should use?

No need to delete the file after installing, as it auto deleted it after installing. At least on mine it did.

On mine when I follow your steps and get the part where I plug my dash cam to the power source the screen remains black in never updates and never turns on.

It's Chinese .... I'm disappointed 😞
