How to update the Minelab Vanquish.

This little video is to show how to update the firmware/software on your Minelab Vanquish. It is pretty easy to do but there are a few things to remember and thats to have a Micro USB cable that will transfer data ( some are used just as chargers and will not transfer data), Make sure your batteries are in and charged and that the coil is connected to the control box.
This will work for all the Minelab Vanquish range so thats the Vanquish 340, Vanquish 440 and the Vanquish 540.
this software upload helps with the Iron tones while out metal detecting for the Minelab Vanquish 540 but also updates the battery for the 340 and the 440 so it is worth downloading and making sure your metal detector is upto date.

I just received my new vanquish 540 metal detector from minelab. Appreciate your fine video on updating software. Not quite finished charging the batteries, but as soon as it happens I will install the charged batteries into the metal detector, hook it up to the computer and see if there's an update available, and if so will download it. Hey thank you for your support :-) I guess the rechargeable batteries depend on how good they are, I have some cheaper ones I bought from ASDA and they work fine, I can get a good days detecting out of them :-)

I guess it could if you had the correct set up, but it does say to use a data cable so thats what I used, let me know if you were successful with the Bluetooth connection 😉😀

Hello Heidimendoza re start the detector to determine if the error still remains, confirm the coil is attached correctly. Preform a factory resets by powering off the detector and then press and hold the power button for 7 seconds :-)

I get to the part where the window opens but it wont install. I think I have the right cord but how do you tell if its wrong?

I think you need to use a cable that's good for Data transfer, some of the cheaper cables only charge and don't allow data transfer :-)

They don't include the proper cord to do any software updates. If you do happen to find the right cord ( I haven't yet ) good luck trying to get at the input on the unit. It's impossible to get at. I am returning this if the seller accepts that I am not happy with it. Is there a better detector out there instead of Minelab? I wont be ordering one from them again.

Sorry your having bother with the update :-( I found the process straight forward once you have the cable :-) I had to use a cable that I originally got with a phone so it would allow data transfer.

@@TheMetalDetectingChannel Thanks. After two trips to the store I finally got the right cable and it worked.All fixed now but I still say that port you plug into is very difficult to plug the cable in.

I'd plug it in and give it a go, I bought this before the updates, it gives you the 4hz frequency if I can remember correctly. Have you just bought one? We will have to do some more videos with the Vanquish:-)

4hz ? Sorry quite new the the sport isn’t it multi frequency working all at the same time ? I thought so mite be wrong tho and yes I brought one waiting on arrival hoping it goes deeper then my current one witch is the simplex lite thanks for the reply buddy love the content
