Double the parts count for each if you're modifying both sets of doors. I used set 42147 to get most of the technic pieces needed. But most cheap technic sets should have everything you need.

I didn’t have the pieces at first, but then my dad went and found every single one in my completely unorganised collection, and ordered the pieces I didn’t have, and he built the doors for me whilst I was sat there thinking it would be stuck with the 2 doors forever. It really proved to me, even without interest, with enough motivation (and a little money) any thing is possible

I had the 2008 LAAT and the double doors were always so satisfying to play with!

That was very clever using the brick with an axle hole. Other mod guides on KZfaq note the door being flimsy because of the available space, but that solves both.

I didn't mind the single door, but now I've seen this I really think I will change it.

FOR EVERYONE THAT IS GOING TO DO THIS CHANGE: Unfortunately these doors can’t fully close up. To prevent this problem I recommend you to use just one hinge connection to the front doors and also move the 2x1 beam that holds everything together a couple of holes back. For the back doors you just have to use the 4x1 technic beams too and you are gonna have the space to line up everything perfectly

I'm probably going to set up the rear door, but not the front half. So it leaves a gap even when closed, kind of like the attack of the clones version. Might also make it a bit more easy for internal access as well.

I tried to follow and modifed the gunship door. but do you have the gap there on top when you close the gunship? the original design doesn't have the gap on between the door and body. I checked the video couple time and it seems yours doesn't have this issue.

Omg why are the front turrets so fragile? Is there a trick to putting both hemi sphere pieces in? Every review ive seen they just grab the barrel pieces and it moves smoothly and freely. I do that and it falls apart. Whats going on?

I don't understand why people hate the minifigs in this set so much. Except for Fox's bad printing, they are really cool ! Also everybody complains that there is just one door but none of Lego's previous gunships had two doors ! They couldn't even close completely

Weird when people complain about stuff like helmet holes being inaccurate, and then put on red arms which aren't accurate at all either. Only the very top of the shoulders are red. But whatever floats your boat I guess.

Yeah no those gcc figs are weird. The shock troopers definitely shouldn't have red arms you should swap those out, but they're mostly better. I just don't think they're worth the money or time wasted to try and buy them.
